I have a pin out for the AVIC-N1,N2,N3 and I can tell you that if this model has an outboard "Brain" module that would connect to the Yellowish or (Reddish looking in your case) connection on the backside of this unit, you will not get it to power up without that other piece connected to it even if you have that head unit properly connected to the power. That Reddish larger connection looks exactly like the one on the backside of the N's and has to have the brain connected to work.

I know that I need a new main strip wire internally. Where can I order one? Thank You benhughes82@yahoo.com

  • For this you really need to contact Jensen directly and order one from them. I have the link set to your unit @ Jensen's website http://mobile.jensen.com/search/?sku=VM9410 You don't want to take a chance with some cheap aftermarket cord with a $650usd deck.

regards, Tony

Hi and thank you for using fixya:

Please to a cold reset on your unit by un-pluging your power cord from the back of the unit. Also check that cable does not has any damage.

thanks

Put in disc also same same

Google manual and model number to download a manual.

It sounds like the DVD player itself is not working, maybe you can see if the laser unit moves if you hold down the "closed/open" switch, DO NOT LOOK directly into the laser, it will damage your eyes, tilt the unit so you look in from "the side".

If it does not move try to touch the slider to see if it just needs a little help, remember it is fragile, it is positioned and moved by small plastic finns (do not know if it is the right word).

lol i had the exact problem that you are having with my alpine. The solution is taking the blue cord that was inside the vehicle (forgot what cord it was) and actually connecting it with the other blue cord thats different makes the factory amp read the cd player and ta-da it works. crazy isn't it

The cd is stuck

Some CD/DVD units have a manual opening mechanism, it looks like a small hole on the front of the unit, try using a needle or a metal rod that fits by inserting it into the hole and pushing it should open the unit in case it got stuck somehow. If afterwards it continues to work then all's good else you'll have to bring it to a workshop.
