There is no green light on my printer

If you are encountering power problems with your printer, please go through the following checklist:
  • Make sure the power cord is plugged in securely and directly to the power outlet. Power surge protectors can draw power away from the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet and the back of the printer and then reconnect it.
  • Check the power supply box (if there is one) to see if it is warm or cold, as there could be a defective power supply issue.
  • If there is access to a voltmeter, test the power supply to ensure that it registering the correct amount of voltage (most Lexmark printers have a 30Volt output).
  • Make sure the correct power supply is connected to the printer.

No power

If it is not getting any power at all, only one of three things: cord is fried/dead; could be the outlet, try something else in the same socket; or, the board in the printer is dead.
1. Press the POWER button to power on the printer The device has a <POWER> button.
Connect the power cord from the printer to the electrical source.
Press the <POWER> button.
Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting a print request or completing installation.

2. Disconnect and Reconnect AC power adapter or power cord to the device and electrical source
  • Disconnect the AC Power Adapter or power cord from both the device and the electrical source.
  • Then reconnect it.
  • If you are still unable to obtain power to the device, try another power outlet.
  • If possible, try connecting power directly to a wall outlet (as opposed to using a surge protector or power strip...just as a troubleshooting measure).
3. Disconnect and reconnect the electrical cord to ensure a secure connection 4. The iP6000D may require repair

I have a Cannon MP510 printer. I have used it recently, no problems. I tried to turn it on this morning, but it does not turn on. I checked for power at the plug to the printer and it is fine. Tried a few...

Disconnect the power cord or AC Power Adapter from both the device and the electrical source. Reconnect it after waiting a few seconds.. If you are still unable to obtain power to the device, try another power outlet. This is to eliminate the chance the electrical outlet is not experiencing issues. You can also plug a lamp or another device into the electrical outlet you have the printer currently plugged into. If possible, try connecting power directly to a wall outlet (as opposed to using a surge protector or power strip...just as a troubleshooting measure). If there is still no power, then another power cord/adapter may need to be tried. If the above does not resolve your issue you should contact Canon as it seems to indicate that your product requires repair service. My lexmark x5150 won't turn on. could it be the power cord? It ma

Please follow the instructions given below to troubleshoot the power issue:

1. Connect the printer directly to the power outlet. Surge protectors can actually draw power away from the printer. If this fails, please try multiple power outlets to ensure your specific outlet is not damaged, and make sure the printer is not connected to the PC while testing the unit.
2. When trying to power on the printer, feel the power supply box (if there is one) and note whether or not it is warm. If it is warm, the problem is not in your power supply, but most likely in your printer. If it is cold, the power supply might be defective.
3. Ensure you have the correct power supply connected to the printer.
4. If you have access to a voltmeter, please ensure that the power supply is giving out the correct amount of voltage (most of our printers use 30 volts output).

Printer doesn't turn's on

Per Canon:

Solution: Disconnect and Reconnect AC power adapter or power cord to the device and electrical source

Secure all Power Connections
  • Disconnect the AC Power Adapter or power cord from both the device and the electrical source.
  • Then reconnect it.
  • If you are still unable to obtain power to the device, try another power outlet.
  • If possible, try connecting power directly to a wall outlet (as opposed to using a surge protector or power strip...just as a troubleshooting measure).
If this does not work, have you tried a different outlet to ensure that the outlet isn't the issue? Also, when you press the POWER button, does the printer respond at all, or is it basically dead?

Please post back if you need further help, otherwise, thank you for using and rating FixYa!

Power problem

Hi there,

The Printer unable to turn on could be of two reasons.

(1) Connect the Printer directly to the wall outlet instead of connecting through the power surge protector (If connected through surge protector).
(2) Check whether the Power adapter is getting warmed up after connecting to a particular wall outlet.
(3) Try connecting the printer to any other wall outlet and check for the results.

Hope this information would help you in this regard.

With regards,
Ashesburn.
