Hello my friend, I was about to throw my zune to the trash but I thought, what the hell let's open this piece of ****.
So I looked up for a video in youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJwLn75RQRM, this guy teaches you how to change your zune hard drive, it's preaty cool. So I opened my device and first I disconeccted and connected both cables (Battery and the other one I don't know what it is...), started up my device and walahh!! it worked.
I hope it works for you!
To do this, use a small screwdriver to pop off the plastic shielding where
the zune cable plugs into and remove the two screws on either side of the plug.
Next pop the cover off and locate the battery plug at the top left corner of the
zune, using your screw driver, pop the cable connection half way off, and do
this to the other plug on the right side. Wait 3 seconds, then push down the
right connector and then the left battery connecter. Your zune should start up
immediately. Press the backing of the zune down (make sure headphone jack is
aligned) and put the screws and cover back in place.
It's an easy process but if you're unsure don't attempt it.
Listen everyone this is what happened to me and what I did. Let the battery drain completely (unplugged from computer). It usually takes 5 to 6 hours to drain completely. Then plug back in and hold the back and down button at the same time. Zune should resume functioning afterwards. All that is needed is a recharge.
This is only 123 defective in your unit, 1, you have internal virus in your unit 2, you have unsupported format 3, you have defective hardware BRM. or the CPU Memmory hardware. first reformat your unit to your PC Using a tornado BX3 Gadget then you can in problem apearing in you monitor.
Download and install the latest zune software from microsoft. Run the new zune software, plug your zune into the computer and it should prompt you to install the latest firmware automatically. This is all that is necessary with the majority of firmware problems.
now what you do is if the zune just has a black screen with a battery symbol and it stays that way forever when on the charger. you, take the zune off the charger and press the play/pause button and if it turns on for a second with the low battery symbol then turns off, your in luck, just hold the play/pause button for 10 - 20 minutes. the zune will have turned on and off alot agitating the battery. once you hold it for 10 - 20 minutes put it on the charger, then presto it works. let charge fully then die completly for every time you use it for a bout a month to let the battery get back into it's normal cycle. ~Dan herzberg~ Thank you*
To restart the Zune device, follow these steps:
1. Set the Hold switch to the unlocked position.
Note To make sure that the Hold switch is in the unlocked position, you may have to move the switch back and forth until the switch is in the correct position.
2. Press and hold the Back button while you press the top of the Zune pad
