I have a gen 1 ipod touch which is disabled i have forgotten password and have a new computer with new verison of Itunes I have tried everything to enable ipod with no luck. Please help


Open itunes, connect your Ipod to the computer with the USB cord, a message will come up saying "iTunes could not connect to the ipod because it is disabled/locked with a passcode". press cancel. Unplug your ipod from the USB cord.
Now shut down the ipod, hold in the home button at the bottom and connect the USB cable back up, keep holding the home button down and you will see a picture of a USB cable and iTunes on your ipod screen. iTunes will say it has detected an ipod in recovery mode and would you like to restore it to factory settings? Click restore and sit back for a few minutes until it restores everything to factory settings. Your ipod will reboot and iTunes will detect it. You can then go into the ipod and install a new pass code if you wish to.

How to shut down the Ipod 30 GIg' I was downloading Itunes to my Ipod and my itunes program said that it could not download any Itunes to the Ipod. The Ipod is running and I cannot shut it down


itunes is downloaded and installed on your computer.
not onto you ipod.
once itunes is installed on your computer, open the program and connect your ipod to the computer via usb cable.
It will mount to itunes and then just learn how to use it and load your music.

Cant transfer from computer to ipod


A. You need to have iTunes installed on your computer. It's a free download from Apple. Load your CD's into iTunes or buy songs from the Apple iTunes Music Store. Connect your iPod and synch.

B. More information needed. Do you have songs on your iPod already? If so check the cable and the USB on your computer, try to connect to a different computer

I have bought a brand new ipod touch, installed itunes and my ipod will not load. Just has a picture of the usb line and the itunes signal. Tried reistalling and restarting computer. Help!


This picture means you need to sync the new ipod with your computer.  Meaning they got to get close and acquainted. 
Restart your computer.  Open up itunes and wait for it to load.  Then take the USB sync cord and connect one end to the ipod and the other end to the USB port on your computer.  Click set up new ipod and type in a name you want to use.  Follow the on screen instructions and don't disconnect the ipod until your computer says its done and its safe to disconnect.

My windows vista does not recognise my usb ipod shuffle.......?! it was fine before.tried the 5steps...the pc still does not reconginise it.


In 1 line:uninstalled the iPod firmware updater program and iTunes. Get a fresh download of the firmware app and iTunes .Try installing iTunes 4.7.1
Steps:
remove the iTunes software and iPod drivers, make sure the iPod isn't connected. Restart the computer and reinstall the software again.

When you log in, load up iTunes (wait till it's fully opened and not in a busy state)
Get a fresh download of the firmware app and iTunes .Try installing iTunes 4.7.1
Then connect your iPod.

get on your laptop download itunes if you don't already have it... then connect your ipod touch to the usb port. After that itunes will come up... just follow the instructions... once all that is done... disconnect your ipod and start adding music to your itunes then connect your ipod touch again to load your music into your ipod.
