Rca hdtv 52inch will play fine then picture goes black but still has sound.. after a few mins.picture will come back on , and will play fine could last all day or may go out again in a few mins.

My tv is relatively new, but the bad thing is that I had an old; big screen tube type rca model; home theatre, that was heavier than a car, and it went out, due to the cracking and popping sound, off sometimes, and back on.
What is strange is the new tv now, the hdtv, light weight, about five years old, is doing the same thing. Actually, now, the power will not even come on. The lcd green light in the front goes on and off.
Take no offense, but I thought I would not have these problems anymore. What do you suggest?

TV wont turn on, makes buzzing noise and shuts off

I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.

RCA 32 in TV no picture no sound just a beeping noise TV power is on

The beeping sound is most likely the high voltage generator needing replacement. This is a fairly easy job if you have some tech support to discharge the picture tube. You can go to the following link and leave them an email with your model number and your symptom and they will email you back with the part you need and they provide free tech support with instant messageing so you can do the repair yourself. the HV generator takes about a half hr to replace and takes only the basic soldering ability. heres the link.

No Power and beeping noise in circuitry

had a 51" rca rear projection donated to myself. While off and power button pressed there was a clicking noise from the front of the unit. Rear cover was removed and it could be observed that the hv splitter had a crack in the casing and the power was arcing out of the splitter. I purchased a $72 dollar hv splitter, i read that the $20-$30 dollar one would break within a year, and the unit powered up no problems.
