Question about Canon ZR200 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Sony DCR-TRV340 tape door won't close

I can put a tape in and close it but it doesn't go in and close. It starts to and then stops and ejects the tape. I called Sony and they walked me thru a reset, but it didn't resolve the issue. I've never had any problems and it is in pristine cond except for this and I was hoping to find a solution for much less than Sony's $200 fix. Thanks

Close it up with out a tape in it.  Slap the side with the tape door three times.  Open it up and it should work.  Sounds stupid, but it works.  For real.

The DCR-TRV340 uses the Hi8 or Digital8 tape. It can also use Sony MemorySticks. You may download a copy of the manual from here.

Hi, My Sony DCR-HC32 handycam's tape mechanism is giving me some problem. It ejects and the tape deck opens up properly but after putting a tape and closing it, the tape deck does not go in. I tried with or without tape but it doesn't go in. It is still open.
Can you please suggest how it could be fixed?
Thanks,
Pramod

I have a tape in my Sony dcr-trv 350. It will not eject out for me. Door will open but tape will not come out. I can still record on my tape. How can I get this tape out? I don't want to loose what I have...

the camera has been dropped
or pressed by a heavy object or person

open the door
put down on the tape
move back and forth with significant pressure
caring not to destroy the eject lock mechanism
do it several times

I had the same problem with my sony

Trouble with camcoder

It is tape mechanism problem in camcorder related with take-up reel sensor signals.
Qualified camera tech can fix it because it is not user level repair/ fix.

Cannot find way to eject tapecassette

Check eject lever near battery, press it downward to open tape compartment, take out old tape and put new tape, close tape door and let it go inside by itself. Close tape compartment.

Below image will help you to locate eject button/ lever in DCR-HC18E camcorder.
Thanks.

Door Jam

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
