I have an acer travelmate 2201 LC which comes with 2 memory slots capable of upgrade. In the memory compartment there is only one slot. Where is the other memory slot?

They generally put the other slot under the keyboard. You may be able to find a breakdown diagram for your machine at the link bellow.
