A lot of the new televisions today come with remotes that have to be re-programmed after the batteries are changed. I would contact the television's manufacture and find out if the re-mote, the television, or both have to be re-programmed.

Access the Emerson Remote Support site online.Locate the television's manufacturer brand within the table list. Obtain the television manufacturer codes to begin programming the television with the remote control.Power on the television you are trying to program the Emerson TV remote control to operate with.
Press and hold the "TV" button at the top of the Emerson TV remote control keypad to prepare the remote for programming and association with the television.
Enter the television's manufacturer code when the Emerson remote's TV button begins to flash. The television will automatically power off to process the new settings.

[2] Point the remote control towards the
television

[3] Press and hold the TV POWER button, and

then enter the two-figure code in the table

to the right that corresponds to the brand of

your television by pressing the appropriate

number buttons.

If your television is compatible with the remote

control, it will switch off.

The remote is now programmed to operate
the TV.
The code for Zenith TV is [TV POWER + 63]

Code is 1293 if you're using a Rev 8 remote control. You can check this on the sticker in the battery compartment.

If you are using an older Sky remote Rev 6, Rev 4 or plain old RC1600/00 then it's unlikely to work as these remotes aren't programmed to control your TV. You are welcome to try though ;)
