The humming you hear is coming from the motor, unfortunitely the motor needs to be replaced, when the motor heats up it shuts down from running hotter than normal, could be from not cleaning out the dryer every one to two years, the lint covers the motor like a blanket making it run hot,the vent line cloggs up and the duct that the lint filter slides into needs to be cleaned out, also it could be from to large a load put into the machine but whatever the cause you need to replace the motor or replace the dryer depending on how old it is and what shape it's in.next time send the model number,i can look up your part and tell you how to change out the motor

My dryer runs a few seconds and then shuts off I can wait a few seconds then it will run again shut off after a few seconds

If you hear a humming/clicking sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor.
Try this test out to see if u have weak windings or relay on motor.
Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings

Another thing to check is the belt safety switch. With a multi meter.
Especially if u just replaced the belt. The belt safety switch is attached to the Tensioner and motor. IT LOOKS LIKE A DOOR SWITCH SOMEWHAT a little black pc of plastic with 2 prongs going into it. Sits at bottom of motor. Under the Tensioner. Attach meter clips to the 2 prongs on switch, Then when the little white push button is pressed in it should show continuity and none when released.

Lastly check ut push start button for continuity with a meter when pushed in the on position, it may have gone bad.

My dryer keeps shutting off after about 10-15 mins. It starts make a noise likes it's slowing down just before it shuts off. If I try to push the knob back in to restart. It will make a buzzing noise. If I...

Open the dryer door and slowly rotate the dryer drum in a counterclockwise (CCW) direction. Rotate the drum 2-3 revolutions and then shut the door and see if it will start. If it continues to just hum and not start could indicate a voltage issue, motor issue or a friction issue. Open the door again and locate the door switch plunger in the upper or lower corner on the hinge side of the drum opening. Hold the plunger in while someone begins rotating the drum counterclockwise. While turning the drum counter clockwise and holding the door switch plunger inwards press the start button. If it starts, there is likely a friction problem or motor problem.

When turned on, it hums, and the drum will not turn. After about 5 seconds, it the hum stops. After letting it set for a few minutes, and trying again, it will do the same as above.

Frigidaire dryer hums when button is pushed in but won't start

ok can u turn the tumbler freely,
if no well there is something stuck in you blower like a sock or something
if the tumbler turns freely
keep the door open and hold the door switch
try pushing the start button
and tuning the tumbler, yes all three at the same time lol you may need a hand
try tuning the tumbler when you hear a hum
if it takes off bad news your start winding on the motor is bad or the capacitor depending on your model
if it does not turn, but the hum continues longer than 1-2 minutes it could be just a belt

sounds like your motor is overheating or going bad. sometimes lint built up around the motor can cause it to overheat. or the motor is dying.
