Its running but not very cold. The freezer has melted and the fridge is fading fast. There was a loud clicking noise in the last couple of days. I think it might be a relay or switch, but I dont know where to start looking. Any HELP would be great Thank You!

Sounds as if this fridge is on its last legs,i would say all the ref gas has escaped and this is not worth repairing as it would cost more than a new refrigerator.adrian,,,,,

Sorry to hear about your problem. Sounds like you have a defrost issue. Hence your unit is not defrosting. All of this apply's if your freezer side has ice on it. If not. you have other issues
Here is a list of some things that can go wrong.
1. Defective heat coil
2. Defective defrost timer
3. Defective defrost sensor
You should call a service company to resolve your issue.

Clicking noise coming from refrigerator

If the "clicking" noise is from a relay on the board or compressor, it's likely th compressor would be cycling on and off.

It could be a fan blade (evaporator or condenser) hitting something. Both fans only run when the compressor is on. This should be addressed ASAP as it could be a wire it's rubbing on.

Finally, the noise could be caused by the refrigerant within the sealed refrigeration system. This noise is more of a nuisance rather than a mechanical failure.

REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER UPPER HALF NOT COLD

If you live in a humid area, I'll bet ice buildup is screwing with the air flow. I have a similar, but less intense problem. So in my case, simply unplugging the fridge and letting all the hidden internal ice melt solves it for several months. GE sells a "moisture kit" which I refuse to buy, since it's $340! Plus, I doubt it will fix anything. Good luck!

Clicking Fridge

I used to have a whirlpool fridge, they are the ones who make kenmore too. It used to make a loud thud noise. It was the compressor turning off. sometimes it was loud enough to wake me up at night. It did this for years and I never had any problems with it. when I purchased a larger fridge I sold it to a friend and its still working today. If you can tolerate the noise I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts giving you trouble.

Amana bottom frezzer refrigerator

Gazzo, You are on the right track. I've been finding a lot of compressor failures on these Amana's. It's possible that the overload and relay for the compressor failed, but Im more inclined, from what I've seen, that the compressor is the problem. The compressor is covered under warranty, parts and labor for 5 years. I would call for warranty service...Catriver...post back.
