I'm assuming you have a PC. Just right-click on the picture you want to e-mail. From the list that appears, choose e-mail recipient. A new window will open and give you the options to send the picture at different sizes. Choose one and your e-mail will open with the photo attached.

When I attach a phot to mail it comes up with this error Subject 'Emailing: CIMG0393, CIMG0399, CIMG0413, CIMG0353', Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com',...

It sounds like your attachment size is too large. If possible, try enclosing the photos in a zip or rar folder. You can right click anywhere where there's blank space (like your desktop) and say "New>Compressed Archive (ZIP)", then drag the folders in there. If that doesn't work, pick up a program like IZArc and create a multi-volume .rar archive. If you're unwilling to do that and/or the recipient can't access files like that OR none of that works, you can always upload the pictures to a free website like megaupload or dropfiles or dropbox, then have the recipient download them from there.

You might want to look through your camera's settings and see if you can drop down the size of the pictures a lot. Having more megapixels sounds nice because you can take "High quality photographs", but unless those photos are being displayed in a huge fashion (IE like a posterboard or a billboard), those differences will go unnoticed, except by the filesize. A 6MP picture takes up 18MB of space (6,000,000 pixels x 3 bytes(one for red, one for green, one for blue)= 18,000,000 bytes uncompressed). Also, note the filetype you're saving as and, if necessary, change it. JPEG has an excellet compression algorithm that can change a 3.1MP picture from 9MB to about 300KB.

Please explain why my G10 set on Superfine 'L' with a Sandisk Extreme III SDHC 4 GB card will give pictures of 4416 x 3312 pixels but a non consistent and small file size varying between about 6 and 9 Meg...

The files you are getting are the correct size. Each image will vary in size depending on how much detail is in the photo. The important thing to look for is the dimensions, 4416 x 3312 which are correct for the sensor in the G10.
The RAW files for the G10 are probably 14-15MB, which you can get if you change to RAW instead of jpeg. This, of course, will take up a lot more space on your hard drive, and you'll need to buy more space. It will, however, give you more information to work with if you plan on doing any heavy photo editing.
Just as a recommendation, hard drives do fail, so buy an external drive for backup if you haven't already.

I write an email and want to attach a pic. I put the pic in the printer but where do I gofrom here?

I'm assuming it is a photo you wish to email? First you need to SCAN it into your computer where you will save it to a folder, remembering the folder name.

Then you open up the program you use for email and look for "attach file selection". In Outlook it is under INSERT, in other programs including webmail like gmail it will say something like "attatch file". Browse to where you saved the photo, and choose it.

Note that often just scanning a photo print can make a huge file size which may be too large for sending. Various email servers have limits on the size of email you can send.

There are other ways of getting a photo scanned and emailed often involving right clicking which pops up menus that say something like "email file". However how and where that is various from pc to pc depending on the printer and programs you have. The method above works for all types.

Photo size too large for email

You can do that in 2 ways.

1) Shoot the photo or video in reduced size (less quality). This can achieved by adjusting the settings in your camera.

2) Use 3rd party software like photoshop or Microsoft paint to manually reduce the size using it.

Emailing photos

The best you can do is save them as a .jpg before sending them. .jpg files are significantly smaller than .gif files. If you need help saving files as a .jpg, post a new help.

You can also check the file sizes by right clicling the file and then selecting properties.

Good Luck!

Emailing videos/movies

you should have a photo editting program on your computer.  Windows comes with 'Paint' that will work nicely.  You need to RESIZE the pictures before sending them via e-mail.

Open the photo program, find 'resize' option, then 'save as' a new file name.

It's poor etiquette to send HUGE pics as attachments. Your friends will appreciate a nice size photo that fits the monitor.
