Ps3 wont start game and goes black but when i eject the game it returns to normal

It is normal for the screen to go black for a couple of seconds once you click on the game title.
Although, for some games, the screen goes black for a longer period of time than other games. Another important factor that determines for how long the screen goes black is the health of your disc.
First of all, it is advised that you exercise patience and wait for a couple of minutes before trying anything. During this period of time, the game is trying to load all the necessary files required to run the game.
On the other hand, if the disc you are trying to play is not very clear or has scratches on its surface, this could make the game go on a black screen for longer than normal. So to prevent this from happening, make sure that the surface of our disc is very clean and is free from dust or scratches.
If you wait for about 5 minutes and it still doesn't work, then you can try ejecting the disc to see if it automatically quits the game and returns to the home screen. If it does, this means that the disc is probably bad and you are advised not to try loading it anymore as it could cause damage to your console.
Although you can try resetting the console if it still behaves this way before you confirm that the disc is bad. Below is the instruction oh how to do this.
Be sure to backup your settings/games saves by doing a System > Backup on your PS3 or you may lose your game saves! Also, this is a last resort procedure prior to exchanging/returning to sony.
1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).

well sounds like your PS3 needs to be reflowed or reballed. I would highly recomend you have a professional do the repair. as fas as having a game stuck inside the machine you can get it out in under 10 seconds by doing this.<br /> <br /> 1) turn off power switch in back of ps3<br /> 2) place finger on eject button and hold there while ps3 is off ( no red light) <br /> 3) while holding finger on the eject button turn power switch on the back of ps3 on , hold finger on eject button untill the disk ejects.<br /> 4) turn power switch off and have unit repaired or replaced. <br /> <br /> if unit is covered by warranty and you send it to sony you must get your disk out of the system as you will NOT get it back if you send it to sony. Most reputable repair shops will return your disk with the system or give it to you before they take the system in for repairs. I ALWAYS give the game disks back before a customer leaves my shop as it leaves me with less to keep track of.

your PS3 overheated, what you need to do is remove the power cable and hold the power button for 5 seconds to make sure that there is no power left, then plug it back in and press the eject button hold it down, it will power up and eject disk, if that fails, you need to RMA your ps3 to sony or you can try and return it to vendor with the game case or dvd case of the disk that is stuck they should replace both

Try booting the system while holding the power on button. Hold the button and keep it held until it turns off. After the system shuts off, try turning it on normally. Let me know if this helps.

you have a hardware failure cannot be repaired ring up sony and send it back for a new one and ask for the disk to be returned

when i was trying to watch my blue ray "young guns" movie, the console wasnt reading the disc. i.e. it was as there was no movie/game in the system. i held the eject button for 10 seconds with the movie out of the console. when the blue light started blinking i continued to hold eject button until the light stopped. i then inserted my movie and........VIOLA!!!!!
now i just need to find a date to watch it with.

Sounds like a heat issue either your fan is not working properly or your heat transfer compund is ****.. I suggest sending it to sony esp if you have only had if for 3 weeks or return to the store...
