Question about Gitzo Photography
Soon after I purchased the g1258, the center colunm jammed when I pulled it up and the internal, fiber bushing or collar partly broke. It continues to jam on occasion.
1) I'd like to know if this is a common problem and what I can do to avoid it.
2) I'd like to purchase a new part. Can you suggest a place?
I tried going to Gitzo's parts catalog to reference the parts diagrams, but I get an error when I click the link.

Should you need to replace a component of your tripod, head, monopod or other product, and prefer to do it yourself rather than let your Gitzo dealer or distributor look after the repair, search this database of pdf diagrams to find your product, and then order the necessary parts from your Gitzo dealer. We do not currently have an online ordering facility.
To search this site, first click on the spare parts link above. Then, either search by product code (eg. G1227LVL) or by product name/description (eg. Leveling*). You can search for complete or partial codes and names using "wildcard" characters (*).
The database only contains diagrams for the most recent versions of Gitzo products (those with black packaging and black/silver product labels) because previous versions of Gitzo products (with blue/white product labels) had the spare part diagram attached. If your product is older, parts diagrams shown on this site may not be backwards-compatible with your version of the product. In case of any doubt, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org with details and a photograph of your product.
