You need to press the blue FN button and the brightness up or down button.

looking at the laptop keyboard I suspect its either the up and down keys or left and right

let me know if you need anything else or further assistance before rateing.

Thank you,

Acer Aspire E360 is staying in power saving mode

Click on "Start" in the lower left-hand corner of the desktop. From within this menu, select "Control Panel." Double-click on "Power Options" located inside the Control Panel. Turn off the power saver plan by selecting one of the other power plans listed inside the Power Options dialog box. If there are no other power plans available, you can create one. Create an alternate power plan by clicking on the "Create a power plan" link on the left-hand side of the Power Options dialog box. This will open another window allowing you to create a power plan of your own. Select the type of power plan that you want, and enter a customized name for this plan. Once you have done this, click "Next." You will then be able to edit the plan's advanced settings to include how it handles the display, sleep mode and brightness settings under the battery and when it is plugged in. Hope this helps.

How to view

Connect the power and data cables securely to the back of the monitor and the computer. Try plugging the computer and or monitor into another outlet to be sure there is no problem with the outlet. Go to the Control Panel and click on "System and Security" and then click on "Power Options. Click on "Change Plan Settings" and adjust the brightness of your screen. Push the button or buttons on the bottom front of the monitor to access the monitor controls. Scroll through the menus and look for a brightness control or contrast setting. Use the button or buttons on your monitor to adjust the brightness. Hope this helps

My desktop brightness sometime increases on its own then if I leave it as it is for a few minutes ... monitor screen turns off then again on automatically

For Windows 7:

1)Left Click the battery icon on the bottom left of the desktop.
2)Click "More Power Options"
3)Click "Change Plan Settings" of the one that you are using
4)Change the time for "Dim the display"

It must be similar with any Operating System you are using. Just find the power options which is usually in the Control Panel.

How do i dim the screen on my hp laptop the fn key does nothing with f7 or f8

well if u press fn key + (f7 or f8). it is suppose to reduce brightness or increase.
But if its not working then check it with service centre.
In between you can try an alternate option, if u r using win7 or vista then, look for battery sign near timer. click for more power options. in there u will see adjust brightness!

My ACER ASPIRE AX1300 gives blank screen

Configuring Power Settings Using Power Options in Control Panel, you can adjust any power management option that your computer's unique hardware configuration supports. Because these options may vary widely from computer to computer, the options described may differ from what you see. Power Options automatically detects what is available on your computer and shows you only the options that you can control. To configure your power settings:
Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Power Options.
Or, if you see the little battery indicator on your task bar, right-click it and then click Adjust Power Properties
I would put it on always on

I can't work out how to activate my inbuilt microphone on my acer travelmate 6292 laptop to use on skype.

The easiest way to find out is go into add/remove programs in the control panel (or look in some listing of all the programs on the computer). See if there is any software related to the mic. If not, contact the manufacturer and ask them if there is supposed to be software or a driver. If there is a driver that you need, They can tell you where to find it. If not, post again.

We have an Acer Travelmate 4200 and the screen is too dark how do you brighten the screen??

Most laptops have a function key (F1-12) with a picture that looks like a sun. Press and hold the FN button and the appropriate Function key. You should get a "slider" to adjust the contrast and brightness..

Some laptops also come with a program to make other display adjustments. Look at the Control Panel to see if you have one of those on your list. If not, check the "Display" application on the Control Panel, and under "Settings" see if you can adjust contrast or brightness that way.
