I don't know about edible but it shouldn't hurt you. Lexmark reps have told me in the past that they don't use alcohol in their inkjet cartridges. They claim there not toxic but you should contact Lexmark just to make sure. I do not know of any MSDS sheets for inkjet cartridges.

I just bought a Canon Pixma MG2920 but I cant find any compatable edible ink cartridges

I don't know about edible ink, but I have bought refillable carts from this company for well over a year, and have been happy with the results. Yes, they do offer carts for your printer:

Edible ink cartridges for MG5320

I had the same problem and then found out that when I removed the "tape" from the cartridge, the part that was covering a small hole on the top of the cartridge was still "covered" which prevented air from allowing the ink to flow out.

It is a very easy thing to overlook but it did resolve my issue.

Printer cartridge

Try celaning the cartridge contacts as shown here (for a different cartrdige, but same principle). If this does not fix the problem you will need to contact your dealer of the edible ink cartridges for warranty replacement.

Mp530 edible ink

You need to clean the print head manually. Remove tanks from print head, then remove print head. Find a small tray you can put hot water in to the depth of a quarter inch / 6 mm. Soak bottom of print head. Do not touch or get wet the electrical contacts. Next while holding print head in left hand carefully pour a small amount of hot water in the each ink tank well in the print head. Now dab the bottom of the print head where the jets are with a paper towel. Keep dabbing till you get equal size spots of all the colours. Best to wear plastic gloves doing this. Best to use battery water (de-ionized) but if you don't get scale in your electric jug your tap water is fine.
