Printer tells me to change the left cartridge, so I did, twice and it still reads the same error. It also registers as no ink on the ink levels.

I had the same problem. My Officejet 6310xi All-in-one keeps going to power reset. I did all the troubleshooting at hp.com.

1. Remove all cartridges and turn off printer
2. Unplug printer and wait one minute
3. hold down # and 9 while plugging power cord back in.
4. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button.
5. Display should read "Full Null Reset"
6 Only install color cartridge. Close cover
7. Wait for machine to ask for black cartridge, then open cover and install black cartridge.
8. Close cover
9. Alignment page should be printed automatically.

Printer icon says door open. I have open and closed cartridge door and turned power on and off and nothing works. any suggestions?

Hi

If you replace new ink cartridge, remove and reinsert again the inrk cartridge. Then try to reboot again the printer.

Hi there, I have a hp officejet 6310 all in one: I changed the black cartridge but it brings up an error message that the black ink is finished. Please help:(

Hi

Please try this solution.
Remove the USB cable into the printer and leave the printer on.
Remove all the cartridges.
Close the cartridge door and wait for the INSERT INK MESSAGE to appear.
Disconnect the power cable and from the power source supply.
Now open again the printer door. Move the carriage using your hand from the original position to the other side of the printer and then move it back to original position. Wait for couple of minutes
Reconnect power cord and turn on the printer.
Return all the ink cartridges and close the door. Wait for the calibration process.
Print the test page to check if it working.
Reconnect the USB cable and try to print again.

I have HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One I replaced black ink cartridge No 98 just recently, and since then I have problems to print anything. When I try to print I get this message on printer?s...

hello, some of the time the color ink cartridge can cause the problem, especially if its a refilled ink, but at same time, i do know some of the new inks right out of the box will fail. so try with a new color cartridge first.

HP 6310 needs to reset power. Tried turning off

it may be the power supply itself! have any of you tried using a different power cord? the problem may not be in the printer but in the cord itself. i have 2 hp 6310's that were giving me the 'reset power' error. when i changed the POWER CORD, that error message went away and it went into the insert cartridges mode. good luck.

Banding only when printing with black cartridge.

Print at a higher resolution. Not ideal - but if you print at a photo or photo RPM mode the printer will make more passes over the sheet... If this doesn't work, consider updating your drivers.

Hp 6310 Cartridge error

I contacted HP customer service and was given a solution that worked for this precise problem: "Using a clean, dry lint-free cloth (a coffee filter works well), wipe the cartridge contacts, from the top to the bottom. The contact area of the cartridge should be rubbed briskly to remove the waxy lubricant material from the gold contacts. The contacts inside the printer may also require cleaning. Using a clearn, dry, lint-free cloth, gently wipe the contacts, from the top to the bottom."

This worked for me. At least immediately. I hope it doesn't happen again.
