Try updating the drivers to you monitor/screen, and then try updating the drivers to your video card, and then try updating the drivers to your display adaptors, all this can be done by going to start>control panel> system> hardware>device manager>*appropriate category*

Colour setting keeps reverting from 32 bits to 8 bits

Turn the laptop on and hold down the "Fn" key on the laptop's keyboard.

Tap the arrow key that has a picture of an open sun to make the laptop screen brighter.

The laptop will automatically save the adjustments after you release the "Fn" key.

Screen Resolution

Click the "Start" menu. Click "Settings" and "Control Panel."

Choose "Display" and "Settings" in Windows 98, ME or XP. In Windows Vista, click "Appearance" and "Adjust Screen Resolution."

Click on the resolution bar and slide it to the right to lower the screen's resolution and to the left to raise the screen's resolution.

The optimum screen resolution usually depends on the size of the laptop screen.

The recommended resolution for a 15-inch screen is 1024 x 768, 17- to 19-inch screen is 1280 x 1024, and 20-inch screens is 1600 x 1200.

However, you can adjust the resolution to your personal preference.

Click ""Apply to see how the resolution looks on the laptop's monitor.

Click "OK" to save the resolution settings.

Color Setting

Click the "Start" menu. Click "Settings" and "Control Panel."

Choose "Display" and "Settings" in Windows 98, ME or XP.

In Windows Vista, click "Appearance" and "Adjust Screen Resolution."

Click "Colors." Choose 32-bit for a high color-pixel ratio that will make the colors brighter and bring out image details.

Choose 24-bit for a medium color-pixel ratio if the screen is too bright or if images are somewhat distorted.

Some older laptops have a 16-bit color setting, but this setting is no longer recommended as it will distort images and text.

Always Click "Apply" to see how the color setting looks on the laptop's monitor.

Click "OK" to save the color settings

hope this helps

Hello

Click the "Start" tab in the lower left hand corner of your Toshiba laptop's screen. From there, go to Settings and wait for the column to pop up. Scroll up the column and click on the "Control Panel." While the Control Panel window is open, click on the "Display" icon.

Press the tab labeled "Settings" while in the Display Properties window. Locate and click the "Advanced" button.

Click the "TwinView" tab from the window that automatically pops up at the end of Step 2. While in the "TwinView" tab, ensure that "Display" is set at "TwinView Display 1: Digital Flat Panel."

Locate and press the "Output Device" button. Click on "Color Correction" and adjust the brightness of your Toshiba laptop.

I am a Toshiba satellite L450 p-18 user; I am using it with windows XP. And now I have had a trouble on how to adjust the contrast and brightness of my notebook screen!!!!!!!! That is how should I adjust...

Always get your drivers and specific software from the manufacturer of your Laptop, Notebook or Desktop.

If you were to log on to the www.toshiba.com web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!
It sounds like a driver is missing, check online with toshiba and download the latest updates for your OS and machine.

I hope this helps.
