Bring your mouse cursor down to the bottom right of the monitor screen. Click on the blue circle with the white arrow in it to reveal your system tray icons. Right-click on the Volume icon. Looks like a speaker. Click on Adjust Volume Properties.

Tv on mute no remote how can I turn mute off

If you have no volume control on the main TV, unplug the TV and then turn it back on. The mute should be cancelled. If you have a volume control, turning it up should cancel the Mute function. It does on mine.
Good luck!

I have a dell d520 laptop and it has no sound. Also I cant find the volume button. Where is the sound card placed?

Hi,

The sound card is inside the laptop and is part of the motherboard. This means that you cannot take the sound card out and replace it.

You may need to reinstall the audio drivers for the machine but check first that the volume has not been muted. Look to the bottom right of the screen for an icon that looks like a speaker and click on that and see if it has been muted or just turned down.
If there is no speaker icon there it may have disappeared from the system tray. You can use your keyboard to turn the volume up or down and to mute and un-mute it.
The keyboard toggles are as follows >>>

To turn the volume up hold down Fn and press the PageUp key.
To turn the volume down hold down Fn and press the PageDn key.
To mute hold down Fn and press the End key.

It is also a good idea to check in the BIOS to make sure the on-board audio has not been disabled.

If there is anything else please post back.

Good luck and kind regards.

Toshiba Regza 32C3000A tv sound keeps droping out, the mute button when pressed on and then off brings it back on. seems as if the tv is auto muting itself?

Could be a contact piece of the MUTE button from your remote that is causing it.
Go out and Big Lots or Radio Shack to get a cheap universal remote control(big lots would be between $5-$10) Pick up the code for it,and when the tv happens again, your the OLD remote MUTE button to turn it back on and then put away this remote control and use the new universal remote control.
However,if the problem is coming from the manual MUTE button on the TV,you need a repair tech, to fix it!

Verizon phone mute button

Talk about silly. This is the 3rd time typing the solution. (The Terms of Use link wiped it out too.) I had same problem by accidentally setting mute from bluetooth headset. If you have same situation, just turn volume up or down on headset. (Turning volume up or down on cellphone did not help me.) Good Luck,

Sound decoder

Go to control panel --> system --> hardware >> device manager.
If you have problem with driver, there will be a big yellow question mark in your "audio controller". If there is problem, you have to reinstall your audio-driver.
If it is ok, then back to control panel -->sounds and audio devices. In tab "volume", you can see if your system might be "mute" (do uncheck box of mute). And if your volume icon is not in the taskbar, do check the checkbox of "place volume icon in the taskbar".
You can also modify the speaker performance here.
