I CANNOT TURN OFF THE "LOC" MESSAGE

I TURNED THE OVEN ON SELF-CLEANING MODE. AFTER IF WAS DONE THE "LOC" APPEARED ON THE SCREEN AND IT'S BEEN LIKE THAT FOR OVER AN HOUR NOW. HOW DO I TURN IT OFF? I LOST MY INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

YOUR REPLY WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THANK YOU. We have the error code f9-2 and we have reset the breaker and that didn't fix it. What now?

on my ge built in oven, I went ot clean it yesterday and all I got was the LOC display on the keypad, even when I touch every button. The doors aren't locked. I just can not get this LOC display off of the key pad and work my oven. I turned off the circuit breaker, all night and it still won't display anything except LOC after touching each key on the pad, itself

loc DISPLAY WILL NOT GET OFF THE KEY PAD PANEL

  • Anonymous Jan 07, 2009

after using the self-clean option and this was finished, the lock device will not turn off. the control board first said "f1". We called the dealership, and they said it was the clock and sensor and it would cost $300 to repair. After the call, the "f1" went off and now it just stays on lock. We unplugged it for 1/2 hour, and it still says lock and we cannot open the oven door.

Hi,

Initially, have you tried a full hard reset? If not, pls unplug from the mains. Most current devices would reset and revert back to factory default settings (assuming no internal hardware fault) when unplugged for a considerable period of time (a couple of hours). Of course doing a hard reset erases all glitches as well as user settings and configurations, the unit will revert back to factory default 9assuming no hardware fault).

Maytag Error Codes:
LOC - this means configuration setting changes will not be allowed F9-1 Latch lock upper F9-2 Latch unlock upper F9-3 Latch lock lower F9-5 Latch unlock lower F9-6 Latch both lower
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

This is called a fault code. If a fault code

press the CANCEL pad. If the fault code and

I am not sure you mentioned the brand you have but I have a GE profile range and the fix was as simple as pressing the 9 and 0 keys on the number pad at the same time. The range should beep and the loc turned off. Hope this helps.

This solution above worked: "pressing the 9 and 0 keys on the number pad at the same time. The range should beep and the loc turned off". I hit clear, opened the door, then hit 9 and 0 together. Cleared it.

This might have been caused by heavy soil in the oven during clean cycle. Unplug machine for 30 minutes. Plug back in ans hold any key or cancel key predd in for 1 whole minute. that should take care of it.

How to self clean...no owner manual

Before cleaning, remove the racks and other items in the oven. Clean the oven frame and door frame outside of the gasket with a nonabrasive cleanser like Bon Ami. Wipe up any excess grease or sugary and acidic spills by hand. Turn off the oven light. Ventilate the kitchen well.

Then press the Clean pad once for immediate start. Press Auto Start to increase the cleaning cycle to three hours. Press a second time to get a 4 hour cleaning cycle or three times to return to the two hour cycle. Cleaning and LOC plus the cleaning cycle time will be displayed on the oven. After the cleaning cycle is complete, the Cleaning will no longer be displayed. However, the LOC will remain on until the oven cools down (approximately one hour). You will not be able to open the oven until the LOC message disappears.

Press the Clean Pad twice for a delayed start. Then use the Auto Start button to determine the delay for the cleaning cycle. The rest of the steps will remain the same.

The manual is available from the following site: http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search_results.jsp?searchTerm=JES9800A&siteCd=JA_EN_US&userType=Consumer .

I hope this helps.

Help my oven will not work!

It sounds like it is stuck in self cleaning mode. If there is a lever to lock the door, try working it back and forth a few times. If that doesn't do it, try going to your breaker panel and turn off the power to the oven for about 5 minutes and see if the problem is resolved. If that doesn't do it, call a professional.

F2 appeared on the screen during self-cleaning

F2-During BAKE
Control senses oven temperature above 615F-630F
If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

If no over temperature condition occurred: Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit , not actual oven temperature.

F2-During CLEAN
Control senses oven temperature above 915F-930F
If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts.

Check door lock switches.

I need direction on how to start the clean cycle on my jenn air

CLEAN PAD
Use to set a self-clean cycle or a delayed
self-clean cycle. One press of the Clean
pad sets up an immediate clean cycle. A
second press of the Clean pad sets up a
delayed clean cycle.
• Clean oven
frame, door
frame (area
outside of gasket)
and
around the
opening in the door gasket with a nonabrasive
cleaner such as Bon Ami*. These
areas are not exposed to cleaning temperatures.
• Remove air grille.
• Remove oven racks. If racks are left in
during a clean cycle, it may impair function
and they will discolor. Turn off the
oven light and close door.
* Brand names for cleaning products are
registered trademarks of the respective
manufacturers.
TO SET FOR IMMEDIATE START:
1. Press Clean pad once.
2. Press the Auto Set pad for 3 hours of
cleaning time, press again for 4 hours
and again if 2 hours of clean time are
desired.
3. CLEANING and LOC plus the clean
time will appear in the display.
4. When the clean cycle is complete,
CLEANED will be displayed. LOC will
remain on until the oven has cooled
(approx. 1 hour).
5. When the oven is cool, LOC will no
longer be displayed and the door may be
opened.
6. Wipe out the oven interior with a damp
cloth. If soil remains it indicates the
cycle was not long enough.

TO CANCEL SELF-CLEAN:
1. Press Cancel pad.
2. If LOC is NOT displayed, open oven
door. If LOC is displayed, allow oven to
cool.

Thanks for using Fix Ya, Please take the time to rate this solution.

Self clean light blinks when you turn oven on (oven does not work)

I had this same problem with mine (still posted under unsolved) This is the simpler model with the old turn style knob and the lever you slide over to lock the door for cleaning What I think (keep in mind I know little about ovens, more about cars) is that the switch that tells the oven the door is latched is staying engaged, and this is part of the lever mechanism. I cleaned and lubed this mechanism (obviously I would guess you want to use a food safe lubricant) and then moved the lever several times with the oven on so I could see if it turned on. After a few tries the cleaning light went off and the oven light came on. No, its not really a technical answer, all indications to me where that the problem was in the switch which is part of the latch mechanism. Good luck
