My laptop can't start Windows. The auto fix is not working and it says I don't have a prior restore point. I'm thinking I will need a new laptop, but figured I'd try posting this first.

No!

All you need to do is to "backup" your files (E-mail, contacts, music, picture) to some external device, e.g., USB memory-stick or CD/DVD-writer.

Then, reinstall Windows, using the original set of "System Restore" CD/DVD disks,
install an anti-virus, run Windows Update several files, and reload your files.

Or, any computer-store will do the above, and charge you $50 to $100.

Definitely *NOT* (yet) the time to purchase a new computer!

How can I manually put in a restore point on Win 7?

You can't make a restore point today to Oct 19th, but you could have made it then or see if there is such and restore to it.
Note that system restore might cause file loss, so back up any data you have!

I deleted files on my hp mini and then used system recovery to try and fix it now windows wont start

Try coming up in safe mode and selecting last known good configuration. Get safe mode by powering up laptop and pushing F2 on top row of keys. It can be fussy to get it to come up. Try it again if it doesn't come up the first time.

Windows (START)\All prog\accessories\system tools\system restore\ Here you'll have a calendar & restore points. I uninstall something to my laptop i cnt remember what it is, then when i insert my headphones it doesnt work but when its working on headphones my laptop doesnt work, what should i do?

Perform a "System Restore" This is the best option; it will “restore the system” back to a previous state, to undo the change. 1. Go, to: "Control Panel". 2. Click System and Maintenance. 3. Click Backup and Restore Center. 4. In the (left) Tasks area, click on Repair Windows using System Restore.” 5. The restore “Wizard” appears. 6. Choose (Recommended) Restore Point. Important! If this, restore point fail? Try again using a different “restore point.” Find the “furthest” (Date) prior to when your computer was functioning normal. 7. Follow all instructions thereafter. *Note: “Once the computer returns to Windows Desktop, “do not perform any tasks, for at least (45 min) the System Restore is still “running. “ I hope this Fix it.

BLUE SCREEN

you may have a new device that is bringing up this blue screen. start your system on safe mode and uninstall any hardware of software you have installed recently or use the system restore to revert your windows to an earlier date prior to the this problem. but remember that system restore works only when you have a major restore point or you have created a restore point in the past. if this fails, you may want to repair your windows installation by reinstalling it and choosing repair option. Cheers!
