SOURCE: Pull Chains Replacement

Replacements are available at Home Depot and Lowes. This is a regular 4-wire single-layer switch.

Mark the old wires, so you know which ports they go to in the switch (marked L, 1, 2, and 3) -- then remove the old wires by pressing a paper clip into the hole of each wire while pulling firmly on the wire. Then just push the wires into the new switch, into the marked holes.

I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!

SOURCE: The switch that controls my fan speed is in the

hi there,
that was a common problem on that fan, the chord chain was stuck on slot groove way to rotary switch inside you ceiling fan,the only way to
repair this to disconnect and pull out the ceiling fan and dismantle the housing whrere the control switch is located, b4fb3a6.jpg upon opening you can see the groove where chord chain was stuck released, possible if you can change the chord w/c is a smooth one so it will never stuck, then reassembly again and put it back, or you can change the control switch by modifying the circuit control and put it on your wall, but this is not easy job you can hire and certified technician to do this, have a good day.don't forget to rate me,thanks a lot.

Fan pull chain not working.

The switch needs to be replaced. They are available from hardware stores, or big box stores that sell ceiling fans.

Why does do I only get one fan speed, and not three on Model 27185?

The light is only a battery indicator light. Check the capacitor in the switchcup. Small, usually black box with wires going to pull chain switch. Also, the fan has to be set on high at the pull chain for the remote to work correctly.

Pull chain hanup on glass light cover

Take the glass off and see if there is a hole in a small plate below the light sockets. The pull chain should go thru this hole first before the glass. I don't know if this has it or not being that it's a low-end store brand fan.

Replaced pull chain switch and lights still won't

As there are only two wires for the light kit I would say you have a bad switch or bad light kit. Send a pic if you can.

PULL CHAIN FOR LIGHT BROKE AND IS INSIDE THE UNIT. HOW DO I GET THE LIGHT UNIT OFF TO GET TO THE PULL CHAIN UNIT.

"PULL CHAIN FOR LIGHT BROKE AND IS INSIDE THE UNIT. HOW DO I GET THE LIGHT UNIT OFF TO GET TO THE PULL CHAIN UNIT."

My oh my!
I don't know of any shortcuts, and the working position does not make the operation a pleasurable one. Not in Summertime!

The time I had to repair that, I needed to pull the whole fan down. Once the whole fan was down, the rest was easy!

It's easier that it appears, but mark all the wires connected in the box.
There is USUALLY a steel cable attached to the fan assembly and the box, to prevent the thing accidentally falling on someone's head.

If you don't have a helper, taking the blades off may be a good idea, but don't take my word for that. Putting them back on was no picnic.

FYI. If you don't have any bead-chain handy, a suitable lenght of sash cord is probably the best replacement.

I need to reverse direction of fan

mcdevito75 here, Close to the ceiling but still on the fan motor shroud should be another small pull chain switch, this pull chain switch is the fan reverse switch, the switch may also be a toggle switch but I doubt it. Look close to the other pull chain switch for the fan, for the reverse switch.

I pulled on my ceiling fan pull chain and it came out, do I have to replace the pull chain attachment

Hopefully not.
Can you see a part of the chain stickong out of the fan housing? If so, get a "link" and re-connect the piece that fell off.
You can get a link (or a small chain) at WalMart key-maker or any hardware store (Ace, TrueValue)...

Light not working by pull chain or remote.

I would try removing the remote part. Connect the two main (light & fan) wires direct to your house main. Then if the pull chain works then you just need a new remote unit.
