Ipod classic video

I bought the 1/8" plug in for the ipod classic, but it won't play video out. It says I need the apple plug in to work. Can you set the 1/8 inch out to play video?

You need a special 1/8" cord for video output. For example the standard 1/8" cord has 2 black rings on the 1/8 plug, each ring is a channel one for left side and one for right side. You need an 1/8 cable that has 3 rings on the plug, 1 for video, 2 for Left and right audio channels. It dosen't have to be an IPOD brand cable it just needs the 3 black rings.

Good Luck

IPod Classic won't play video with AV Component Cable

I have the exact same problem, having previously tried the component cables. I called tech support who stated that my ipod classic must have some sort of hardware malfunction when otherwise fully functional. I can get sound through the RCA cables, but no video. What gives?

How can I play video files stored on my iPod player onto my portable Philips DVD player (it has an iPod dock)

You need a camcorder A/V cable that has a three-plug RCA connection at one end and a three-banded 1/8" plug on the otherad647c1.gif

iPod settings as follows:
TV OUT: ASK
TV SIGNAL: If you live in the U.S., your TV works with the NTSC standard. European countries mostly use PAL.
WWIDESCREEN: Choose your poison here... it all depends on your tv

Jensen VM 9311 iPod Classic

The new ipod will not work with anything other than 2008 alpine products. Apple embedded a chip in the actual cable that tells the ipod that it's ok to pay. What you need is an authentic apple video cable that can only be purchased at the apple store...then hook the inputs up to the video input on the radio.
