Every time I hook my HP Photosmart 4180 to my HP laptop it has to reinstall it. When I unplug it, it disappears from the printer list. It is very annoying. How do I get the drivers permently installed and not have this issue. I have a cannon print I use sometimes and it is always there and ready to use when I plug in. The HP printer is the one I use the most so, help...

- im having the same problem.... and on top of that ive lost the orginal cd so im going to try downloading it from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=219&product=1832960& and hopefully that will fix my problem. but if anyone has found another solution please forward. - lady_stone

- I have the same problem. Unloaded the HP 4180 software and reloaded from the original disc three times and the problem persists.- larrysak3
