Need to remove front panel located under the filter cover

Press around the panel edges while pulling back. There are probably plastic clip locks that need to be depressed to unlock. Flex carefully, taking care not to break the plastic cover.

Delonghi NF170. Not working. Red alarm light on. No water in tank.

To fix this problem, your going to need a piece of stripped wire, an average sised philips screwdriver and a smaller philips screwdriver. Remove the drainage plug on the back of the unit, and remove all the screws on the back panel (There are two by the wheels, don't miss them). Remove the two screws at the back of the control panel. Remove all the painted white screws on the side of the unit. Remove the rear panel, and look for the point where the remaining grey side panels and the white panel are screwed together, then remover them. The white front panel should slide of with a bit of a tug. Face the front of the unit. On the bottom left corner you will see a wire running to two contacts. Disconnect both of these. Jam the piece of wire between these two plugs you removed, and chec it is secure. The unit should now operate normally, just be sure to empty the water regularly to avoid overflowing. If you want to replace the switch so the unit will switch off when the water is full, then you should consider buying one of these:

How to remove front cover for cleaning

I don't know too much about your particular make / model but most window units have a 1 piece front cover which is usually held on to the main cabinet with 1 or 2 screws at the sides and 1 or 2 behind the filter panel. You will need to remove the front panel to remove the vents as they are usually fitted from behind the panel.

How do I remove the front panel to clean the coils in the front? I have the panel free at the top, bottom and sides but seems to be hanging up/caught in the middle, between and below the vents? Fedder...

front panel has one phillips screw in it. remove the air filter and you will see it. Once you remove the screw, grasp the lower front sides of the cover, where the plastic meets the metal, and gently pry it outwards and towards you. there are plastic clips that hold the cover in place. One on each lower side and three on top.

Carrier furnace burner will not on with front panel close.

Sounds like a combustion air issue and by removing the front panel it lights and runs. Is there a PVC pipe connected to the cabinet that may have a blockage in it? There may be 2 pipes, one for exhaust and one for combustion air. Would not hurt to check both.

How do I free the lower part of the front panel?

After wrestling with the front panel for awhile it finally came off. On the inside of the sides of the lower front panel are plastic extenders which fit into the groove openings on the lower part on the side of the metal housing. Thus the key is to pull from the side of the lower front panel away from the housing.
