You're going to have to format the drive and reload Windows and any other programs. Hopefully you have backups of any personal pictures or data that were on the computer.

Hp iq524 touchsmart recovery cds will not load windows on new hard drive

Try deleting the partitions. You can use any Windows install disc to accomplish this if the HP won't.

For manual deletion you need is fdisk.exe and possibly and at the command prompt.

Ok if you are a complete novice like you say it may be a little hard to explain everything on here. Your heading say you need help loading windows xp. While the body says you need help cleaning it out and reloading it. It has been a while since I loaded windows xp on my computer but it came after losing a hard drive. I seems like I just put in the new hard drive and put the windows installation cd and when I started it, it just went through the steps of installation. However if you have a working computer and you want to clean it up, you may want to save some files off your computer before you just wipe it out. You should make a recovery cd, you can go through help menus to do this just type in "recovery cd". You can format your drive, go to programs, accessories, command prompt. If you open that up it looks like the old dos system, if you type in "format c:\" then enter it will wipe everything off of your hard drive. So my suggestion is this: find a friend/ neighbor that is a little computer savvy and ask for some help. It may be as simple as deleting your temporary internet files and cookies to get you running faster, which I think is what you are really after. Now that I've written a book I hope this helps. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

Media center m370n keeps rebooting in loop wont start says KERNEL32.DLL was not found

Sounds like you have a boot error on the hard drive. Time to get out your rescue discs and reload Windows. When reloaded run CHKDSK/F to clear any errors. If you can run CHKDSK/F before having to format your hard drive, that may save you a lot of time.

How do i reload windos and format my drive i only have one hard drive and all my usual solutions arent working a virus appeared some how through hot mail or fb and if i boot from disk drive to reload win...

First go into BIOS SETUP and make sure that your CD drive is set to be your first boot device, and your hard drive is the 2nd boot device. To do this, start tapping on the DEL key as soon as you turn your PC on. (On some machines it's the F1, F2, or F10 key). Once you get into Setup, use the arrow keys to check the boot device menu and change it if necessary. Then save your settings and exit.

Hopefully tou have the system restore CD that was provided with your PC. If you do, put it in the CD drive and restart your system. The system will boot from the CD and you can choose the option to completely restore your PC and format your hard drive. (Of course, all data on the hard drive will be lost)

If you do not have the system restore CD you will have to insert your Windows CD instead. You will be given the option to format your hard drive. Format it and Windows will then be loaded onto your hard drive.

Once you are up and running again you will have to go to the MIcrosoft website and download all high priority updates.

CAN'T INSTALL WINDOWS XP. The XP disk will reformat system and load window files, but after auto reboot it just stops and then wants to reload windows again from the beginning. ?????

The first time, insert the Windows CD-ROM, and start the reinstall.
Just before the auto-reboot, remove the CD-ROM, so that it will boot from the newly-formatted disk-drive, and continue with the rest of the installation.
