I have a brand new JVC AV27230 which I'm not sure if there is actually a
problem. There is a low frequency humming noise coming from the speakers.
When the speakers are on mute, the humming noise is noticeable but when the
audio is turned on, it goes away, until there is a pause in the audio. When
I disable the speakers, the noise is gone. My wife don't seem to notice
this...but I do. Is this a problem?

This might be something simple....... BUT........ since you said your JVC
AV27230 is "brand new" it would be your best decision to take it back where
you purchased it and return it for another one or a different model. It
would not be wise to void the warranty trying to fix this yourself. To
protect your warranty, only a JVC factory authorized shop should be
attempting to fix this.

This sounds like bad main filter capacitors or some bypass capacitors in the
buss in the power supply, or a defective component causing some type of internal
ground loop. It is best to get this attended to before there is an expensive
failure.
