Question about Pioneer Elite VSX-9100TX Receiver

VSX-94THX 7.1 Remote and Face Controls Fail Often

I have this problem repeat often like every day. The manual says unplug and replug and this is the only way to get it working again. I'm beginning to think this thing is not worth the Beer Cans it must be made of.

    I must say the suggestion was an absolute fix for my problem. Even though I couldn't understand exactly what "mains" were or an "anti surge lead" was I googled these and found that they are apparently terms for Power Company Main lines and RFI EMF Surge Protector Power Conditioners in European Lingo. Never the less thank you very much, you have saved me a trip to the Pioneer repair shop and for less than a hundred dollars I now have no problem with my unit. It now opperates flawlessly in every way.

    I had thought that your suggestion had fixed my problem. The reason is because it worked for a whole day without missbehaving. The very next day it failed repeatedly. So the RFI, EMF Surge Protection didn't work. Pioneer has told me that I can bring it in under warranty so I think I will unless you think that filtering each and every component going into the unit will fix the problem or if you have another idea that may fix the problem. I have about $80.00 into trying to not bring it in to Pioneer Authorized Service, but still would rather not if I don't have to.

    Thanks;

    Andrew

Hi,

It could be mains spikes, interference on the power supply from another device.

Try plugging the unit into an RFI suppression anti surge lead and see if that helps.

    Hi,

    If Pioneer will take a look under warranty I would suggest you take them up on it to be sure.

    You could also try running that unit on the Power Conditioner with nothing else connected to it, just to rule out your other products.

    Regards

    Andy

Pioneer vsx-32 won't turn on with remote

Hi, since both remotes suddenly fail, I am assuming the problem is more than likely with the received rather than the remotes.

If you do wish to check your remotes, then point your mobile phone camera at the remote's Infrared lens and press one the remote's buttons. Your mobile phone camera is able to detect Infrared light and in case you remotes are working properly, you should see light coming out of your remote's Infrared lens.

Make sure that no direct sun light is on your receiver because that can effectively block out the signals from your remote controls.

Try the following method to reset your receiver. Unplug your receiver mains cable from the mains wall socket; power your receiver on by pushing the on/off button (nothing will happen obviously) and leave it like that for say 30 minutes. By that time all capacitors in your receiver will have discharged. Plug your received mains cable in the mains wall socket.Push the receiver's on/off button and see if it know responds to your remote controls.

If the problem still persists, you may have a failed Infrared receiver LED. That component can be found inside your receiver. It will take some basic elelectronics skills to get this component replaced. A service manual can help you. You can download it for free from this website: http://elektrotanya.com/pioneer_vsx-32_33.pdf/download.html

Good luck.

I have a pioneer vsx d608 and the remote works only for the power and muting. I pushed some buttons on the face of the receiver and the all functions worked with the remote (not sure why). I turned it off...

I'm pretty sure the front face buttons have nothing to do with the intermittent success or failure of the remote to work - unless by some chance a given momentary control is 'stuck' on.

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821

They also sell replacement remotes.
Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

The remote to my pioneer elite reciver stopped working for no apparent reason. I changed the batteries but still I cannot control the receiver. HELP

HI;
I'm having the same problem. All that is needed for a quick fix is to unplug the receiver and wait a while and plug it back in. You might have to do the unplug and plug back in a few times and you may have to wait hours but eventually each time this has happened to me I've been able to get it working again. You will find this in the Trouble Shooting guide under Other Information. the problem I'm having is it keeps doing it and can be really annoying. Even the face controls go out and no control of the receiver is possible. For the money you would think it would be a bit more robust. It's acting like a Korean Microwave I bought about 15 years ago.
