Question about Archos AV 500 Digital Media Player
I originally had a problem with my AV500 not geing reconzed by my P.C. i.e. it could not find it and requested the drive to be re-formatted. Not being the best person on computers someone else re-formatted it using windows XP. As a result the entire hard drive appears to be cleared.
When you turn the device on without the power supply attached, it displays the Archos logo screen for approx. 10 seconds and then turns irtsself off. With the power lsupply attached the unit freezes with the logo screen and none of the buttons do anything.
When connected to the P.C. the device is not reconised at all.
Unfortunatly the unit is more than 12 moths old and therefor outside the guarentee period.
Is this a terminal problem or can the unit be salvaged in any way ?
Try updateing the firmware on the device
If you are unable to perform a firmware update on the player you will most likely have to send it in for service.
