When I try to print an invoice in French language, some of the french special characteeers are not printed properly on this printer.
Ex:
1. é is printed as ? (question mark)
2. û is printed as ? (question mark)
We have corrected this problem in Dell and Lexmark printers by setting the Symbol Set as 9n ISO 8859-15 Latin 9 on printers in the following path..
Settings -> PCL Emul Menu -> Symbol Set -> 9n ISO 8859-15 Latin 9.
Is there any way that I can set the above mentioned symbol set on Ithaca printers.?
Please help me in this regard. This is a very critical issue we are facing.

You will use this the same way in French as you do in English, or Spanish, or whatever language you prefer.
You simply push the keys you wish to use to spell the words, an then print the results, if you have a printer.
Hope this helps.

Go to this website and you should find the solution to your problem. The reason the French showed up was because the wrong .dll file was selected. There may also be a need to check to see if the correct .inf file is selected too.

It's not the printer that determines the language that is printed. It is the operating system and/or the program that is printing. Also, what you type.
In computers that run Windows operating systems it is chosen in the Control Panel. Use the Start button. Choose Control Panel then Regional and Language Options. Select your language in the pulldown menu. The entire system, including prompts, titles, etc. will now revert to that language. It will not, however, do a translation. If you have documents that were written in English they will still be English. If you want to type in English and print in French it will not happen. You must type in French to print in French...Comprenez-vous ?
