SOURCE: i changed the car battery

Is it a factory stereo system? If so you need to take photo ID, registration, and title to your car to the dealership. They'll use that info to look up the code for your stereo based on the VIN number of the vehicle. Make sure they give it to you written down and don't just enter it, so if you lose power again, you won't have to go back. This matters, because they can charge up to an hour's labor to do this for you.

SOURCE: Safe mode. Need to know where i can download code

Just had the same problem. Removing the radio is first problem - you need a special kit which you can buy from halfords, or get friendly mechanic to do it for you. Then get your Code by inputting serial number (written on metal of radio NOT label) into one of the websites (I got mine from IRC UK) but you will probably have to pay for this. When you have the code do this: 1. switch radio off (with keys in ignition) so date and time are showing. 2. Hold down main volume/on/off button at same time as holding AS button for about 5 secs. 3. Insert your Code by pressing button 1 for first number (ie if first number is 6 you need to press button 1 six times), button 2 for second number, etc. 4. when you have inserted all 4 number of the code you got from the website/garage hold down the AS button on its own.
This worked for me!

Welcome to Fixya

This means that your car stereo is not reading the disc. Try to use a cd cleaner first to clean the lens.

Thank you for using Fixya!

SOURCE: cannot use my car stereo

H?,your car's register documents should have this code somewhere..
Otherwise you must consult to any official Vauxhall service they can get it thru computerized data network by inserting your chassis number..
Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and

Hi lost the code for radio, flat battery !!! seriel no is M013537, ford escort. anyone know the code thanks

Welcome to FixYa.

The problem with these security codes is that each radio carries a code that is unique and individual to the serial of radio itself. There is no master code for these radios. The good news is they can be decoded online once you have the serial number like you already have..

Ford will charge £25 for supplying you with this code and this is why I always recommend this site which does them for only £5.99

Hope it helps. Many thanks for using FixYa.

Battery went flat need code for cd player

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code
First remove the radio from the dashboard.
Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.
This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated
