Blackberry password

.

How to recover a BlackBerry ID using a BlackBerry smartphone

Something important to keep in mind when recovering a BlackBerry ID password is that you will need to use the BlackBerry Browser on your device or a web browser in order to complete the process. This is a result of a security precaution that prevents the password recovery email from being sent to the device. To recover your BlackBerry ID password, use the BlackBerry smartphone browser or a computer to follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the BlackBerry ID password recovery page
2. Enter the email address that you used to register your BlackBerry ID and fill out the CAPTCHA characters
3. A confirmation page will appear stating "A request to reset your password has been submitted"
4. Open the mailbox for your email address on the computer or by logging into the mailbox\webmail using the BlackBerry Browser and click on the BlackBerry ID password reset email (it can be identified by the sender: bbidpw-donotreply@blackberry.com)

Note: Don't forget to check your spam/junk folder in the event that you do not see this email in your inbox.

5. In the body of the email, click the link after the heading "To change your BlackBerry ID password, simply visit"

6. The link will open a new page in your web browser, enter your new BlackBerry ID password in both fields and click Submit
7. You have successfully recovered your BlackBerry ID password!
How to recover a BlackBerry ID using a BlackBerry Playbook tablet

To recover your BlackBerry ID password using a BlackBerry Playbook tablet, follow the steps below. Something to keep in mind is that you may be asked for the answer to the security question that you created during the initial setup of your BlackBerry ID.

1. On your BlackBerry Playbook tablet, open "Options" by taping the gear in the top right corner of the Home Screen
2. From the menu on the left tap "BlackBerry ID"
3. Tap the Pencil icon to the right of "Change Password"
4. Tap "Forgot password?"
5. Enter your password recovery question which you created when the B BID was initially set up and tap "OK"

. Open "Messages" on your BlackBerry Playbook tablet or log into your mailbox/web mail using the BlackBerry Playbook tablet browser and select the email from bbidpw-donotreply@blackberry.com
7. In the body of the email, click the link after the heading "To change your BlackBerry ID password, simply visit"
8. The link will open the web browser on the device, enter the new password in both fields and tap "Submit".

How do i start my computer in safe mode? when i try to login i get a message "the user Profile Service service failed login" what do i do?

Hi!

You can start your computer in safe mode by pressing F8 key in the keyboard when your computer is in the boot state. Press the key right after the POST screen and then the select "Safe Mode".

Restore your computer at the earlier time when the error is not yet existed by System Restore.

Hope it helps.

Desktop has serious problems with no antivirus program installed. Am trying to install AVG free 8.0, and keep getting Error: Action failed for file avgwdsvc.exe: starting service... Error 0x800736b1...

Try avast av go to avast.com and download the free version. It's very good. You need to sign up with an email address they will send you a key to copy and paste and it will be good for 14 months then you will need a new key. I've used it for years for free.

Can't receive my E-Mail

Depends on the (client) program you are using, but...

1) Test your WEB Browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox),
to make sure you can get MSN or Google.

This tell you if the network and the TCP/IP stack are
working properly.

2) If the network is fine, open you email client and check
your server setting for: POP-3, and SMTP.

These setting must match those specified by your
IP service provider.

Also make sure that the email login and server password
are correct.

3) Pay particular attention to the error messages you
get inside you email client, when it fails to access the
server. These should give you a clue:

a) Can't find server / invalid domain name ... etc...
b) Can't login ... user not authorized...
c) No network connection ... denied...

etc...

4) Server and domain name problems indicate a typo or
error in your POP3/ SMTP settings. These are sometimes
changed by the IP provider, so please check with them.
Also check the port numbers:

Port 110 = POP3 = Incoming mail server
Port 25 = SMTP = Outgoing mail server

are typical, but it really depends on th provider.

5) If you can't login, the login ID or password are wrong,
or your provider has closed you account, which they tend
do to with a nasty deliberation if you owe them money.

6) If the email program cannot connect to the internet at
all, but you WEB browser can, then you have a fire wall
problem.

Check these firewall, and disable them temporarily,
to see if it fixes the email problem:

The Windows Firewall: Control Panel === Windows Firewall
(disable it)

Any software firewall you may have installed, such as
Norton's, AVG antivirus...etc. Disable them too.

If you use an external router or residential gateway
to connect to the internet, such as SISCO, CVG, SMC

Log into the router using your WEB browser, and disable the
firewall.

7) Once you identify a firewall problem, you need to setup
exceptions for your email client.

8) If you cannot get any Internet, including the WEB,
then you have a different problem.

a) run the Windows Network setup wizard again,
from the control panel.

b) If you connect directly to the Internet through your cable
or DSL this should fix it.

c) If you still use a telephone modem, that has to be
setup as well.

d) If you use a residential gateway, barricade or router
to connect to DSL or CABLE, then you need to set
that up next using you WEB browser. Typical router
address is: 192.168.1.1

e) In the case of DSL you router may also need to be
programmed with you login/password info, because in
this case it is the router that connects and logs into
your internet provider's server, not your computer.
(your computer sees the router, not the provider.)

Anyway, not knowing what your exact problem is,
I think that I have covered the waterfront here,
hope it helps.

Please rate my answers.

A recent mac laptop with Tiger & bootcamp/win XP will connect to the internet via a Netgear DG834G adsl modem with ethernet cable in tiger & XP but only in xp with wireless. Any advice? JL

If I understand you correctly you have an Intel based MAC, with the boot-camp boot manager, so you can choose to boot either from the native MAC OS or from Windows XP.

The system works fine from the MAC OS, but the (wired) ethernet does not work from XP.

1) When you boot into XP mode, the XP operating system is in
charge and the MAC OS is dormant.

2) Check the XP device manager to see if the ethernet NIC
(network device) is properly installed and if the device
drivers are functioning.

From Windows XP:

Right click My Computer ==> Properties => Hardware ==>
==> Device Manager ==> Network Adapters =>
==> Your network controller

Right click on your network controller ==> properties

Check the device status !!!

2) If the device is NOT working properly, you may need to
download and install a device driver for this card.

3) If the device IS working properly, you may need to run
the NETWORK SETUP WIZARD from the control panel:

START ==> Control Panel ==> Network Setup Wizard ==>
==> Next.

4) Assuming you are connecting to DSL with a login password,
use the: "My computer connect to the internet through a
modem" option.

If your DSL is always on, or if you use a local router to
connect to the DSL modem (the router does the work)

Then you choose the: "My computer connects to the
internet through another computer or a residential gateway"
option.
