- Conclusion
In conclusion, I believe that AVG anti-virus is the best free anti-virus software and is also the best paid-for anti-virus software because their updates are frequent and I have not yet come across a virus that could not be removed by AVG. They are also devoted to finding new viruses on the internet and finding ways to remove them as well as finding out what they do to ensure the best protection for you!

ClamAV ranks in at number two for anti-virus software on my list as it can be used on a server which is great for businesses and schools which require a server.

Number three on my list is McAfee anti-virus because it also has frequent updates and they have a large team working on fixing bugs and errors as well as discovering new viruses.

Number four on my list would have to be Norton anti-virus simply due to one fact: once you install it, you will not get rid of it unless you format your computer which would remove any viruses anyway.

So there you have it. If you are looking for free anti-virus software or paid-for anti-virus software, you are better off going with AVG!

I hope you enjoyed my tip about which anti-virus software to use. Thank you for using FixYa! Have a nice day and please remember to rate this tip.

Best regards,
BearWeb

This better be god sent. I have a dell desk top at home, 5 yr old. Used it with care. It is vista system based. Tried to install McAfee total protection plan and did not work at all. Uninstalled...

Normally windows vista no problem to communicate with any anti-virus software unless the software is damaged or not supported by windows vista so do not let it work. (If it really can work on vista, most likely operating system you use there is a problem)But do not worry, you still have many choices, for example try to use anti-virus or improve the problem in your operating system.
Hopefully this can help, thank you
