Question about Gigabyte PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have Packard Bell Imedia 1539, with Gigabyte GA-8TRC410MNF-RH Mboard. Not sure make of BIOS. I get a single short beep on power up, but then nothing on screen. Very occasionally, I get a Splash Screen, but mainly blank. I've reseated memory. No recent upgrades. Any ideas?

Tried accessing the BIOS. Nothing. The single beep from what I've managed to find out, doesn't seem to suggest big trouble, but I seem to be in it :-)

you receive only one beep that means your system is ok .you mean short beep or long beep. if it is short your computer is ok.

Garphic card is inbuilt one or card one?

Changed cpu on packard bell imedia d3318, still getting no signal on monitor and no beeps. When I remove the cpu and power on, there are no beeps

Have you check with different RAM, Did you try to reset BIOS by removing the CMOS battery and shorting CMOS jumper? Your Processor may be ok but you are plying with it. When there use to be no display then first thing you should doubt with the CMOS battery and the RAM and Motherboard, rather then CPU, CPU hardly gives problem.

Packard bell imedia d3318 no vga signal

It is the video graphics card, or the motherboard, but you can sub out the ram memory one at a time as you test. It might be a bad stick of ram which would rule out the above mentioned

My packard bell imedia will not boot, when i press on button it goes red instead of blue and the shuts off after 2 seconds

i'd say your not passing the post test....if you hear a beep when you start your pc it should boot to windows screen if you dont hear beep you could have a loose cpu fan open up pc and make sure the fan is secure if not try tightening it can be tricky either that or it could be your power supply i wouldnt attempt fixing that if not sure what your doing..or try turning off your pc plug it out disconnect all periphals and press in the on button and hold for 2 minutes then try and boot

Packard bell imedia alt-col2 just keeps beeping on and off

Find out what's making the noise first. It's either your fan or your hard drive. Check to make sure the noise your're hearing isn't your fan cutting into one of your wiring harnesses. That could be why you have the video problems. If it's your hard drive making the noise, that means it's on it's way out and you should immediately back up your files on disk and replace the drive before you lose everything.
