Looking at reviews on the internet, I'm going to say the motherboard came out in 2006.

,leads me to believe it is PCI Express 1.1 technology being used for your motherboard.

However you can use a graphics card based on the PCI Express 2.0 technology. Why?
Because PCI Express 2.0 is Backward Compatible with PCI-Express 1.1 technology.

Will you get the full capability's of a PCI Express graphics card, based on the 2.0 technology?
No.

Will you notice? Doubt it.

What will stop you is the Power Supply. Need at least a 400 Watt PSU.

I Need the jumper settings for the fic k8mc51g motherboard from a emachines desktop computer. Putting the motherboard in a custom case.

There is a 4-Pin Speaker connector that is not used by Gateway on the motherboard (right beside) the CMOS jumper settings (Pins).
The clear CMOS settings jumper block is right beside the speaker pins. You can use this jumper block to clear the CMOS RAM, which is powered by the onboard real-time clock button cell battery.
Pin 3 is indicated by the markings on the board.
Settings: Pins 1 and 2 covered = Normal Operation Pins 2 and 3 covered = Clear CMOS enabled.crazyeyes746.jpg

Need to replace mother board

It looks like you have an AMD Sempron 3000 system. If you have a mid tower case, look for any atx motherboard that supports that cpu. If you have a mini case, you will have to look for a mini-atx motherboard. The description about the motherboard will give the dimensions of the motherboard and you can measure your case to make sure it fits before ordering. With it being such an old computer, I would not put a lot of money into the motherboard itself. check out www.geeks.com at http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=A8N-LA-PB-NP&cat=MBB for a good buy at about $35.00 USD.

Hi, one quick thing you can check is to see if the cable running from the power switch is plugged onto the right pins on the motherboard, it will most likerly say (pwr btn) next to the pins or something like that, it may also need to be a certain way round.Let me know what the outcome is if no good we can try something else. hope this has helped. Thanks
