Question about Gateway M275 Tablet PC

1 Answer

Battery Won't Charge

I just bought a 2nd battery for my Gateway M275. The LED is purple, suggesting that the battery is charging, however, after about 10-15 minutes of charging the meter stated that the power level was still at zero. The battery was used and untested, so I realize it was a gamble, but is there anything that I could try to do to fix the problem? Thanks!

Try placing the battery in the freezer overnight or longer. Then draining the battery a couple of times. There are instructions on youtube I think.

Tablet will not charge or power on

Battery is probably dead. If it's to far gone, the tablet will not charge or work.

Also, try taking the OEM charger/chord (not some ebay or cheapo gas station charger) and plug it in overnight. It may suprise you and start to charge.

Wont charge or keep a charge

yes, there is an issue with the power jack on that machine and the only way to resolve it is to replace the motherboard. if your computer is more than a year old, you probably need a new battery. it may show charged, but that's because all the cells that dont work are turned off. what you actually have is 70% of however many cells are left useable. if there aren't at least 3, then it will turn off with in minutes if not seconds after being unpluged. you can get a battery (and motherboard) here.

battery: there are two different part numbers, you should check yours to see which one to get

Note: do not plug your laptop if not using this. this will damage to your battery this the most common cause of battery problem due to over charged without unplugged. pls remove after charge. this can also damage to your main board from power supply section. thanks romsky79@yahoo.com

My Gateway m275 tablet will not charge or power up even with it plugged in

At least a 50% chance the power pin inside the computer has been damaged. Taking apart a laptop and getting it back together correctly is a tough job . . . .The part (the power pin) is not that expensive ($ 5-10) but the labor is expensive. If you don;t feel up to the task, have it fixed by a professional and after it''s fixed get a CRD (Cable Retention Device) to keep from damaging the pin a second time.
