I need to reconfigure my phone to be able to send/recieve mms...
My friend gave me his phone (sgh-e370) when he got a new one
unfortunatly, i cant send multimedia messages on it. It says i have a "configuration error"
I looked at some of the advice on here which says i need to reconfigure my phone. i went to the samsung website to try to do this, but was unsuccesful because i am in the us. and the phone i have is based in the uk
so when i have to enter the information for my cell phone, the only countries avainlable are uk and ireland,
then i have to enter my cellphone number, which is a us. number
then s thing pops up and tells me i have to enter a uk number.
is there some other way for me to reconfigure it so i can send/recieve multimedia messages?
or is there some way for me to get past this step of the reconfiguration process??

Re: I need to reconfigure my phone to be able to...
i think if your phone is made for use only in Uk and Ireland which means you cannot few services like multimedia message etc..there mite be a few ways to crack the service but it is not advisible because you will lose ur phone's warranty when you do so..thank you!!..

hi, all you need to do is contact your service provider and ask them to send you the correct internet and mms settings they will send you these for free and they send them via text message this will then update your phone to the correct settings and allow you to receive picture messages.
Its the mms settings that are wrong on your phone so once they send you these via text message this will then update your phone and will then solve your problem.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
Try to contact your service provider, there might be some settings that needs to be reconfigured to activate this feature, make sure that the phone that you are sending the photo has activated his/her MMS settings.
Unfortunatly these phones can only send up to (usually) 128kb and recieve up to 50kb. That isn't that big but there is nothing you can change on the phone to make it work. You can resize the pics and try to resend, and have friends send you smaller pics.
Is your internet and text messageing for incomming and outgoing working? If it is you will need to contact your carrier and let them know...they will collect some information from you and send it off to thier engineers to have your issue fixed...it might be something as simple as you need the correct feature or settings on your account adjusted. Also if it's unlocked...there's no guarantee that the internet will work on another carriers network therefore it limits what other features you can use...such as mms (which is one part internet and one part text message). Good luck
Hi Kim, Contact your provider and ask them to send you there WAP and MMS settings, usually when you recieve theese you switch off your phone, power it back up and YOU need to send a picture to activate the MMS settings with your provider. Good Luck!
