Re: PS2 OR X-BOX
I would say the ps3... you can mod and chip it if you need to but it is region free.. no need to.. you can download linux ect onto it and rip dvds and blu ray to your hard drive... and a hard drive upgrade is a simple new hd I have a 250gb in my ps3! No need for a computer lol

The only way how to play PS2 games on PS3 is to have the correct version of the console. Either your Playstation 3
can play PS and PS2 games or it can't, and there's not much to do about
it. Most of the PS3 models simply cannot play older titles as they lack
the necessary hardware and firmware. However, a few models do have
backwards compatibility. The 20 Gb, 60 Gb, and original 80 Gb models
all have backwards compatibility, either through hardware or software
emulation. The other models lack backwards compatibility, so even
knowing how to play PS2 games on PS3 won't help you out much here.
Yes you can! One thing you need to look at is if you have 60G PS3 if so then you need a new one because the 60G are more or less defective and brake easy, why i dont know. If its any other G then you need yo check if the CD is a Blue bottom disk, if so it might be the disk. If that doesn't work grab your Ps3 box call the sony company and they will fix it for FREE!
The ps2 don't have so much power to run a ps3 its inposible!! ps3 runs at 8 cores procesors, ps2 on one - 3 Ghz Ps3 its like 10x more powerful, and beside games on ps3 needs hard drive and other stuff that ps2 doesn't have. There is no way you can run ps3 game on ps2 - no way
Um well it all depends on what you want! I would say the ps3 is the best... only bc there is no internet charge added on and you dont need to buy a controller charger as well as the built in blu ray player and huge hd ...
360 you have to pay for internet, charger for the wireless controllers, buy a hd drive ect unless you get the elite..
I have both and have added linux to my ps3 which runs like a computer...
ALSO you can play ps 1/2/3 games on a ps3 if you buy a 60gb version.
In my personal choice id stick with ps3..
If you have a copy of your receipt, you need to call Sony. They will send you a box and e-mail you a pdf with instructions. The lasers on these units are cheap. I have had 2 PS3's with disc read errors after 2 months of ownership.
If you don't have the receipt or if your unit is out of warranty it will cost $150.00 to fix-
Your best bet on getting this fixed is to go to Gamestop store and get a DVD cleaning disc kit. This in many cases will work to clean the lens of the laser without opening the PS3 and voiding the warranty. Follow the instructions on the kit in detail to get best results.
