Gps loading screen freezes

When I first orginally my magellan gps is was working fine and didn't have any problems with it. However, about a couple weeks ago I was on a trip arrived at my destination fine but when i turned it back on the loading bar loads to the end and freezes and stays like that. Is there anything I can do?

If Magellan touch screen, try turning unit on while holding bottom right corner of touch screen. This will reset the unit.

My GPS was working fine until today when I started the car, GPS screen didn't show up at all. I don't know why it suddenly doesn't work.

The following advice pertains to the following magellan gps systems.

Magellan 800, 860, 2000, 2200t, 2500, 3000, 3050, 3100, 3140, 4000, 4040, 4050, 5310 and 6000t

i fix these and many other magellan gps daily so when considering my advice , please understand i do not google my solutions.

assuming your car charger is working (the little green light is on) and your magellan still wont start up after holding the power button while its plugged in for up to ten seconds and still does not start..keep reading.

this is actually a very common problem with these magellan power ports...they are poor quality from the factory and always and i mean always fail..the new ports that you find on ebay are 100% better then the factory port.

if your able to replace that power port yourself, you can get one HERE, if not, ask the fellow that sells them for help.

due to some dubious "experts" on fixya, im not permitted to help you directly, but please follow the link above to get further help.

let me know if you need more help or info

My magellan triton 500 will not fully turn on. It statrts to load the bat goes all the way and then freezes. I can not turn it off either.

You need to reset the magellan triton 500, then it will fully come on and stay on. To reset this type of magellan. What you have to do is to take out the battery and reinstall it back in. That should do the job for you, and if that does not solve the problem, then you have to back up the maps on a computer then format the triton then restore the software and maps back on it. Now am assuring you that will do the job.
Hope this information helped you.

Have a 4040 maestro magellan will not get off the magellan screen

if this just happened, and you have not tried to update it (sometimes the update causes this) then power the 4040 on and once it finished loading to the blue screen, using a paper clip, depress the reset switch on the left side and let it restart (little pinhole on the left side under the usb port)

if you need further help, just reply to this post.

I have a Magellan fx324 that freezes every time a i use the plot button. The screen displays "loading..." and then nothing happens and it freezes. Every thing else on it works.

Hi,

I had the same problem when travelling.
It was a loose fuse carrier.
I stuffed siver paper in the carrier and tighten it up.
Never frozen up again

Screen freezes

I did use the Premium live chat with you. I went through all the steps again that I already did on my own - i.e. resetting the pin hole with power on and power off...touching the screen in the corner when it was powering on....nothing changed.

I called Magellan. My warranty is still in effect and the Magellan rep gave me a repair number and address to send the unit. I will have it back and working in 7 to 10 days at no cost to me.

I wish it had been a really quick fix, I use my GPS in my business. I'm thankful for the warranty. I wish I knew why it did this so I can avoid any possible repeat of the malfunction.

Frozen screen when turned on

Kevin, Hmm... it worked fine the first two times you ran it, then all of a sudden it freezes at the user screen?? I'm not sure if your able to do this, but at the user menu, try pressing the (-)zoom out key and the repeat button a the same time. -If it does bring up the "secret" menu, try clearing user data. -If you have a program that allows you to update the software, version 4.32 I'm guessing (or 5.14) then at that "secret" menu select NAND Flash Format and re-load the software. If you can't access the "secret" menu and it locks up hard at the user menu w/out any responsiveness, I would suspect the hard drive is either bad or has corrupt data. I'm not sure if you can order just the hard drive from magellan/thales/tomtom/shaw but if you can then just replace the hard drive, nand flash format (above) and re-install your software via usb. Additionally, not that it helps your problem, but atleast you would know the pwr and keypad work if this works, press Enter, Cancel and power button at the same time, as this SHOULD power off your unit. Let me know if any new symptoms/problems come up or if you need further instructions. -Daniel
