I solved my problem by manually starting the program C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ATK Package\ATK Hotkey\HControl.exe

It seems it should start automatically, but it doesn't... I added to the startup folder so I don't have to do it manually every time.

How do I turn off backlit keyboard

Hi! Usually it is Fnc + F2 or Fnc + F3 or Fnc + F4. Check it out! (By Fnc I mean the "Windows" key on the low left side of your keyboard)

I think it is the keyboard driver. If you go to asus.com, you should be able to find it, unless of course, there is a fault in the keyboard.

My keyboard won't light up on an ASIA G73J. I have tried the function keys and they won't work.

Did you hold down the [fn] key, in combination with the function keys? If not, you have to hold down the [fn] key in combination with pressing the function key's that are associated with the keyboard back-lighting (usually [F3] or [F4] on an ASUS G-series).

How do I turn on the keyboard lights on my asus G73J laptop. Sounds simple but I have tried everything and have lost my operating manual. I can only find a basic manual online that does not address this.

You will see a button labeled Fn on your keyboard , while holding this button down, press F4 and it should toggle the light on your keyboard.
hope this is helpful

I have a ASUS G73J and I cant get the lights for the keyboard to turn on.

Hello. This is what I do every time my keyboard lights go off. Go to program. Click open Asus Utilities, Click open e-driver, which will let you down load all the drivers for your Asus computer. You should see a number of options you can pick to down load or pick ATK Package for keyboard lights. I usually down load everything in case there was an update for my drivers.
Good luck: Daryl White

How turn on keyboard backlight on my asus laptop

If you are asking about toggling the intensity of the backlit keyboard, just use the Function key and F3 to decrease the intensity and F4 to increase the intensity.

If it's not working at all, make sure you have the "ATK Package" installed. If so, uninstall and reinstall the ATK Package - that fixed mine.

If you don't have the ATK Package, find it at asus.com, install it, and run it.
