You Tube. When people try to access my videos, they get this messsage "There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address. Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server. We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website. " My videos are perfectly legit. Why has You Tube put this warning, and how do I get it taken off? I access You Tube with my [email protected] account. The videos show my website www.mayanvillagerental.con which has another email address [email protected]. Could this be the problem? I have never been asked about website security, and would not know how to obtain a security certificate. Many thanks for your help Elizabeth

This is not an issue with the clock on my browser. In fact, I have problem accessing the videos, but I have had several comments from friends who cannot access it without the warning.

Thank you. I hope that there are no more problems. It is difficult to understand when it is not my problem!

How amazing that you can advise me from Greece, when I live in Mexico! Where do you live? I have been to Greece many times, and have always loved it.

All your videos look fine, without any messages or errors at Firefox and Internet Explorer. I think that the problem has to be either at the customer's browser or at the customer's internet provider. My own location is Greece and I use a typical ADSL line from a local provider. I know that it's not easy to get these details but there is no problem at your side. I'll try to get print-screens for the most common browsers in order to send you.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.
If you are satisfied, accept my solution.

    Thanks and regards

As I said before, here is a print screen of the most common browsers for your youtube's link. Sorry for the picture quality but I had to reduse the size.

As you can see there is a problem in loading with 2 not very common browsers, but none about security problems.

Elizabeth, I'm glad that I co-operated with you (I prefer this, instead of "advice") for solving your problem. I live in Athens - Greece. Thanks to fixya I've co-operated with many people all over the world and indeed it's nice to get an opinion about a problem from another place. About your case, I have noticed again problems like this and sometimes it affects the quality of the video also. So the next time someone complains about the site you just created, ask him to tell you about his location and what browser does he use. A useful tool to get screenshots (like the one I sent you) from various browsers is at this link. It needs registration but it's free.

Thanks for the acceptance of my solution.

Anytime you need another point of view don't hesitate to post me.

The majority of the times when you are getting a security certificate issue is when your computer date/time is incorrect. All you normally will need to do is goto your clock and fix the date and time on your computer. After that is done, reload the browser and the error should not pop up anymore.

Your cmos battery in your desktop or laptop is dead. The best thing to do here would be to get that replaced through a computer repair person or your computer manufacturer if it is still under warranty.

Windows security center

If this is your router and you've forgotten the username or password we suggest that the router be reset and then setup with a new username and password.
Default username and password
Before doing a hard reset on the router you may want to try the default username and password. While this is not the same for all routers, this may allow you access to your router.
Username: Admin or Administrator
Password: <Blank>, try just pressing enter or try "admin" as the password as well.
If this does not work and you believe the router is using the default username and passwords try viewing the default settings at routerpasswords.com
Sometimes when attempting to visit a secure website on your Windows computer, you will receive a message about a security certificate error.
You will have the option of whether to continue to the site.
Secure websites, such as an online bank or retail store, use security certificates so your browser knows that any financial or personal information you enter on the website will go the correct place securely.
Every error message does not necessarily indicate a security problem on the website.

Check your computer's date and time.
If they are incorrect, you will receive security certificate errors.
Click on the time in your taskbar, and set the correct time in the pop-up window.
Refresh the website where you received the error message.
If you receive a security certificate error message again, the problem lies with the website's security certificate.
Click the icon that looks like a padlock next to your browser's address bar.

Read the information in the window.
This will detail who owns the website, the site's verification status and any known information about the website's trustworthiness.
Compare this to what you know about the site you were attempting to visit.

Click "View Certificates, then "Install Certificates."
Click "Yes" at the security warning to install the certificate for the website.

I am trying to access my hotmail account and get "access denied" - you don't have permission to access "/D/864/193170/000/sslcachekey.bayw.mail.live.com/default.aspx?id=64855" on this server

I had this problem a short time ago, and it resolved when I signed in to my outlook account on my laptop. I never used it that way before, but this seemed to be needed. Otherwise try using Firefox brouser to go to Hotmail.

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

ie%281%29.jpg

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

    tool.jpg
  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

    sec.jpg
  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

    trust.jpg
  • Click OK to exit.

    cus.jpg

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

Internet Explorer cannot display web page

a couple things I've seen
- first the address as posted is invalid (can't find) but if you insert a dot (.) between parents and brickshools then it finds it (http://parents.brickshools.org/)

- if the corrected address is correct it looks like the site is redirected to a secure connection (https vs. http) and then the problem is that the site owner's security certificate has several problems as follows:

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority. The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid. The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address. these issues were presented to me by Internet Explorer v7.0 - the main address functions (http://brickschools.org/) so it definitely seems to be a security certificate issue on their end. I would speak with the site owner. btw, I'm coincidentally in Toms River :)

Security certificate

Right click on your internet explorer and open properties. Under the security tab you can set this site as a trusted site so that Windows will not shut you out, just because they did not pay for their site to be Windows approved.
