Question about TruTech PLV16190 Television

1 Answer

Intermittent outage I have owned my trutech for about one year 4 months.  Never had any trouble.  Just recently, while we are watching TV, our TV just turns off.  You cannot turn it back on by remote or the top button panel located on the top of the TV.  Instead, if you unplug it, you can turn it back on via remote or TV top panel.  Any suggestions?

Open the back of the TV,and look at the can shaped items on the boards. If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should get it working again.I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!

Recent power outage while watching TV. Power came

I bet you $120.00 you did not have a 1000VA UPS on it. If I was right, you can pay me now, and I can send you one.

You need a new TV.....I don't think this is repairable and if it was, it will cost you dearly.

The thinner they are the faster they blow...by the way they have a computer in there.
Why do people never us UPS's on their TV?

I got one for you after you buy yourself a new TV.

Unplug the unit for 2 min and retry.

See if there is a factory reset in the menu.

Heres what mine did:no picture no sound, when i hit the remote the indicator light went out....piece of crap is six months old, cant find any info on it, cant get a hold of anyone at Trutech.
So i took it apart, on the board that the power cord is attached to, i found six blown capacitors. There is also a big ass one in the middle of that board which looked ok but blew out the bottom.I replaced them, and im watching it as i type.
Its fairly easy but if your not comfortable soldering on a cheap circuit board, take it to someone.
I hope it helps, i think this repair will fix the other Trutech models with the same problems.
