Software Problem

Hi my name is Max. I have an All-In-One Printer Scanner and copier from Lexmark, Model # X3470, and am having trouble with your software. When I scan a text document, I can see that the preview text document is a correct image of the original text document. However, when the text document is sent to any Word or Office application, the text document is altered from its original state and if I use another company scanner that dose not use your software it come out fine and also when I used ABBYY FineReader – 6.0 Sprint it also dose not work when i tried to scan the text document in to this program.
For example, if the original scanned text document has checkmarks, circles and other symbols, these checkmarks, circles and symbols or any lines in the text document will also disappear in the scanned version.
I have contacted Lexmark about this problem, and they informed me that I must contact the third party they purchase the program from - ABBYY FineReader. Lexmark believes there is a problem with the OCR part of the application.
I need to know if there is an upgrade or a link I can access free of charge, to fix this problem or is there any other software you can tell me about that is free so my all in one Lexmark printer can work properly. I need to use the scanner regularly and need to have this problem resolved. Thank you.
