Hot do i change capacitor on board please?

Make sure that the capacitor is discharged and there is no power to board. Un solder the cap on both ends from the board and replace with another known working capacitor of same capacity and voltage. The value on the replacement can be a little higher but in no circumstances should the capacity or voltage be lower than the original.

Where is the power reset on panasonic PC-DF2703 triple play

Ralph!

There is indeed an internal fuse for this TV combo, inside - on the power supply board.

Trouble is, if it is blown it is usually indicative of a larger problem.

If you are somewhat "handy", unplug the unit and "crack 'er open" and have a gander at the innards. I doubt it is just the fuse (a replacement can likely be had at your local Radio Shack store), but more often the problem is a blown capacitor or two.

Sometimes (quite often, actually) a faulty capacitor can be diagnosed visually. They bulge, or the tops split open, or they discolor, leak, or simply smell like burnt chicken (really!)

A few screws and cables off, and the power supply board comes right out. A $1 replacement capacitor, a few minutes with a soldering gun, and you're "good to go"!

(sometimes, a couple of capacitors will blow at once. Some people spend $10 and replace all of them - which is a good idea since the board is out and easy to do

At the very least, look at the board and get the serial number off of it: replacement boards abound on Ebay for $25 to $50, and are easy to change out.

(the trick is knowing which model power supply board you need to purchase, if you go that route).

"Go for the Gusto" and try repairing the board yourself!

There are few satisfactions greater than doing it yoursel,f and saving the day along with saving a bundle of money!

The soldering gun, electrical solder (get self-fluxing solder, or purchase a small can of flux) and replacement capacitor will set you back all of well under $20 USD. How-to videos abound on YouTube on how to do this, if you have questions.

I had this problem with my LG few years ago. On Internet I found solution how to fix this by yourself.
Most often one or two capacitors on power control panel blown (became defective). They could be found even visually. I bought two new capacitors and replaced defective. Tools are: soldering gun and solder.

I bought the gun years ago and never used it. Now I need to solder my eyeglasses frame and have no idea ho to do it. How do I start? It's a dual 140/100 watt gun

Often the material used for eyeglass frames will NOT take solder.
If you want to try soldering you likely will need a flux that has zinc chloride. You should probably use a harder solder like StayBrite. You put some flux on the joint which needs to be held fixed while soldering. You heat the joint with the soldering tip and apply a little of the solder. One should "tin" or wet the tip before using by applying flux to the tip and melting a little solder on it. Search YouTube as someone probablly has a video on soldering.

Polaroid FLM-3732 Television turns on then off

A common problem with this television is the power unit. Some of the capacitors go out on them within 2 years. You can buy a replacement power unit for about $150 or if you know how to use a soldering gun you can purchase the capacitors for about $5 and fix the unit yourself.

I just fixed my Polaroid 3732 and it cost me $3.49. I would push the power button and the standby light would come on but the picture would not appear. After I changed the capacitors it starts right up.

You can buy the capacitors on Amazon.com. Search for 1000uf 25v (you need 2 of these) and 1000uf 35v (one of these).

Here is a video you can use that will give you the step by step.

MY WELLER SOLDERING GUN IS GETTING HOT AND A LITTLE SMOKE COMES OUT NOW AND AGAIN IS THERE ANYONE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA WHO CAN FIX IT FOR ME AS WELLER SAY THEY DONT DO ANY REPAIRS ON THEM. CHRIS

these are not worth repairing as the main part of a soldering iron is the transformer which is what causes the tip to get so hot, so if yours is giving off smoke and excessive heat probably the transformer is starting to cook itself which means it has to be replaced. I would guess that the transformer will cost you more then a replacement soldering gun on ebay would cost. Hope This Helps Don

The lights went out for my clock, how do I fix

You have a two part board. The control and the display. They're hooked together with a 12 wire connector soldered at each end. You might be able to find a weak solder joint. Check for one that is a little off-color, or you might see a crack if you use a magnifier. If so reheat with a gun. Otherwise forget it, the board, if available, would cost more than a new unit.
TWO ANDS. And know what you're getting into before you take the top off. See how to discharge a capacitor on many tech sites. Capacitors have killed people!!! The second AND, is be sure you stay by your MW while cooking. If you mistakenly enter the wrong cook time, well, fire and like that.

Vivitar flash won't charge the capacitor.

Hello,

You can't repair the capacitor, only replacement.
Are you sure it's the capacitor or just guessing?

If you know how to put a bicycle together without using a manual, then it's not hard.

Just needs:
Phillip Screwdriver
Very thin blade to remover the round plate
Flat Blade Screwdriver
Solder and Soldering Gun.

Be very careful on the HV discharge fromm the cap.

More help: a.l9609@gmail.com

I don't know how to send images on this site.
