Connect one end of an ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the printer and the other one into a free port on the router. Then, using the install CD, tell it that you are attaching a printer on the network. The software should automatically detect the printer on the network and set itself up for it.

Router give you connectivty to printer and computer through TCP/IP.
Just take a ethernet cable connect the printer one end and other end connect to router.
Check the printer mannual for configuration to work in network. If required assign IP address to printer if mannual says

Go to printer add Printer - network Printer - select second option (for eg. //192.168.1.1/Printer name) 192.168.1.1 is printer IP Address. After that sometime printer driver CD for installation of driver if not available cache.

Does holding the reset button in do anything? If not, might be that the router is simply fried and time to get a new one. If it does react to resetting try just connecting one device to it to see if you can get to the web interface and configure.

I currently have 2 sony computers connected to my Linksys WRT310N Router. I just bought a new Dell Laptop for my home business and I can't get it connected.

I'm assuming your new computer uses Win 7, so try opening Control Panel, Network and Sharing Center - then elect to set up a new wireless network. You should 'see' your wifi network - if not, then come back with that info & we'll take it from there...

Using the WRT54G2

if it has an ethenet or nic card it can be connected to a router. Not a dumb question at all. As long as you have multiple ports you can connect both the desktop and laptop. Just make sure in your control panel, network connections, that your network connections are enabled. The B/G is the speed your router can put out

Missing password and printer connection

are you using internet router for your wireless network? you download software for your internet router or if you want reset your internet router this will refresh your router and give the manufacturer original settings with "admin" user without password.

you can also connect your printer to other computer and share it so that other computer on your network cab use it. just open the share printer in the network and windows will install it or go to add printer and look your printer using network.

hope this will help you.

No connection to desktop, but great connection to laptop???

Hi Lindsay,

The very first thing that you need to do is to personalize the wireless settings of your ultra range plus router. Since your laptop is wired directlty to the router and is working properly, you can access the router's GUI to personalize the wireless settings. Open internet explorer on the working computer and type http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar, you will be prompted to enter a username and password, by default there is no username and the password is "admin" if you have setup a password using the setup cd then use that one.
Now your inside the setup page of your wireless router, look for the tab the say's Wireless and below you will find four sub menu namely; Basic Wireless Settings, Wireless Security, Wireless Mac Address and Advance Wireless Settings.
Under Basic wireless settings change the Wireless Network Name(SSID) to something you prefer(this is a must).
For the Radio Band, set to Wide 40Mhz. Wide Channel(9), Standard Channel(11) now click on "Save Settings".
Now got to Wireless Security and for the Mode choose(WPA Personal/PSK Personal) Enter a 8 or more digit password under passphrase and click "Save Settings".

Now your done setting up your wireless router it's now time to connect your desktop wirelessly.

If your using a linksys wireless usb network adapter more or less you have also installed the WLAN Uiltility but personally I use the built in WLAN of XP and Vista.

Using the linksys WLAN Utility for to the Profiles tab and highlight default.
Click Edit and it will provide a list of available network(SSID) that your computer detects.
Select the name(SSID) that you provided the router earlier and click connect.
It will not prompt you to enter the WPA Key also known as passphrase(remember the 8 or more digit password) then click Connect to the Network.

You should now have a valid internet connection wirelessly on your desktop.

Oh and for your 2nd question the answer is No, since you already purchased and installed a wireless usb network adapter for the desktop computer you don't need to purchase a long ethernet cable or move the desktop to where the route is.

Hope this will help you get connected.

Regards

Hi!

What's the model # of the Linksys router?

Can you describe to me your physical connections from the modem going into the router? What ethernet port from the modem goes into the router's ports, etc.?
