Hi!

There should be two screws on the lower corners of the control panel. Unscrew those and you should be able to pivot the control panel upwards. With that out of the way, there are 2 w-shaped bronze-gold colored spring clips that hold the cabinet on. Pop those off and the whole housing will pivot forward and off.

Here is a link with pictures.

My washer threw the F H code, it ended up I had caused the problem earlier in...

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADERS displaying the “FH” error code.

"F/H" indicates that either you have no water coming into the washer, or very little water.

If you have NO water coming into the wash tub after 30 seconds the error code is displayed. Check the following:

- Inlet water valve may be clogged. Clean inlet screens if necessary.
- Make sure water taps are on.
- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

If you HAVE water filling the wash tub, and after 8 minutes, 10.5 gallons of water has been detected by the flowmeter, but there has not been a detected a Pressure Switch trip, the inlet valves are turned off and the error code is displayed. Check the following:

- Make sure you don't have a siphoning problem. Click the following link for instructions: http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning
- Verify Drain Pump operation.
- Verify Flowmeter operation.
- Verify the Pressure Switch hoses are intact and connected properly.

To access the Drain Pump - UNPLUG the washer and take the lower panel under the door off by removing the three screws under the bottom edge. HINT: Propping the front feet of the washer up can make access much easier. I use a couple small blocks of wood. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down then come off. If it sticks, tap either side and it should come free. The pump is located directly under the wash tub in the front of the washer. Verify the electrical connections are good and that the pump is running. If not, click on the following link to check the pump for obstructions:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385845-checking_drain_pump_in_whirlpool_duet

To access the Flowmeter and Pressure Switch – remove the three screws in the top panel along the back of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel should slide back, then, lift off. The flowmeter will be located on the left-hand side of the washer (facing from the front) between the inlet valve and dispenser. It’s a small white plastic device with hoses attached. The pressure switch is located on the right-hand side of the washer in the rear. It is a round plastic device with electrical connections and a hose attached.

There should be a tech sheet directly behind the panel or attached to one of the interior cabinet walls. Please refer to this sheet to learn how to perform diagnostics, how to locate the components mentioned, and the specific measurements required determining if the components are good or bad.

I hope this helpful. Please post back if you can't find the tech sheet and/or need further assistance.

I would start by checking the filter and cleaning it, this is usually located at the bottom right front of washer behind a flap or cover, unscrew an ti-clockwise to remove and clean.

Whirlpool top load washer won't wash after filling

The hinge on the left side activates the lid switch. The hinge will have to be repaired or replaced.

Use a putty knife or a old CD to slide under the control panel on the right and left sides, where the control panel front meets the washer top.
This will release the clips that hold the control panel to the top cabinet.
Fold the cabinet to the rear.

Unplug the lid switch in the top of the cabinet on the left side.

Remove the brass clips holding the cabinet to the rear panel.
The cabinet will come off so that you can access the underside for the hinge and lid switch.

Service light is on my whirlpool washing machine and won't allow the wash to start, can I override this as it's only 18 months old?

The main motor in the whirlpool front loaders has brushes. These will wear out eventually. Does the drum try and turn when a load is started? If not the motor deserves a check. 18 months sounds short but possible. Mine took 4 years to wear down.

Whirlpool model WTW6600SW1

you'll need to pull away the washing machine. then turn it around. theres that big steel plate with a bunch of quarter inch screws. remove that. Then youll be able to find where its leaking. There will be a drain pump and another pump that is for pumping the water back into the machine. There will hoses and most likely ull just have to adjust those hose clamps. Its a little bit of a pain but just get some channelocks and squeeze them down with one hand and with the other push it back where it needs to go. Ive been working on my gf's washer (same one) and i think its a piece of ****! because its only 2 years old and already the motor is out on it. so do yourself a favor and dont be hard on it. dont wash anything to large it it! just a piece of advice cause im seeing all kinds of ppl online that are having trouble with it after 18 months, 20 months, etc.

F-11 and FDL, Board won't communicate and door lock failure.

Try taking the top off and making sure all of the electrical connections are solid. I had the same problems with mine and discovered that all of the vibrating the machine does has a tendency to loosen connections. I end up doing this about once a month and it always fixes the problems.

Whirlpool Cabrio Leaks Water

Good luck. Mine did the same and they sent their technicians out to fix the problem. A&E comes out and replaces the tub ring. They told me the washer is now made with the tub ring in place. When he opened the washer up I noticed I now have rust inside my washer. I have spent a month trying to get Whirlpool to replace my washer but they will only replace parts. A&E came out to replace the tub ring and now my door creaks and my washer does not go back together correctly. Hopefully you can justreturn the washer to where you got it. Read other reviews on line. It sounds like this washer is a lemon. Sorry!
