Many hobs have a thermocouple which is like a small rod sticking up into the flame. when this is heated up, it holds the gas valve in. if the thermocouple has failed the gas valve will release as soon as you let go of the knob. only solution is to replace the thermocouples

My becko gas cooker is new and when i turn the oven on the hob ignitors keep clicking what do i do pls

So when you are turning the oven on, It is the same process as your cooktop. you turn the knob to ignite( so its clicking) and once it catches fire you back off the knob to adjust your flame. the oven is the same. its just bthat all your igniters will want to light at the same time, but gas is only being fed to the location of whatever knob your turning. omnce oven is lit, turn back the knob to dedired temp setting. hope that amsers your question. good luck. Or, if no gas is getting to the location, make sure the valve for your gas is on.

Gas stove blows off the knobs

When you went to use the stove again it sounds like a burner did not light. The gas built up and then came into contact with a flame and ignited. Gas, propane or natural, does not float around and dissipate, it settles and builds up, which is what it sounds like happened, and then ignites with a flame or spark. When you suspect that gas has been on, it is best to wait and turn a fan or something on to dissipate the gas before trying to light a burner...

How to lift a2 smeg cooker hob

remove cast iron pot stands and pull off all knobs and small timer buttons. lower the oven doors and look up under the panel holding the knobs and you'll see a screw at each end, remove them. you can now remove the stainless switch panel, (swing the bottom out first) you can now get access to screws at each top corner which should be removed. you can now lift the top panel of the cooker by about 5 inches when a pivoted stay should drop down each side to allow you to rest the top in an open position.

I have a belling gas range cooker and only one of the ovens lights properly. The other one when I turn the cooker knob and hold it the gas comes through,it lights but as soon as I take my finger off the...

When the oven lighting mechanism lights the gas, the flames heat a temperature sensor that, once hot, increases the pressure in the sensor's copper pipe and opens a safety valve to allow gas to continue to flow without you holding down the button (It's made like this so, if your flame gets blown out, the sensor cools and cuts off the gas supply, making it safe from gas leaks). These sensors occasionally fail, and very sensibly "Fail safe" - No pressure in the sensor pipe, the valve won't stay open and there is no gas to the burner once you release the button.
If you take a look inside the oven at the back where the burner is, you will see the sensor, usually the bit that is in the flame is cylindrical, about an inch long made of metal about 3 or 4 mm thick, tapering at the end. It will be held in place by a nut that fits on a thread at the base of the sensor. Running from the sensor is a copper pipe that runs to the cutoff valve. Unbolt the sensor and withdraw it from the hole it is mounted in, trace the copper pipe back to the valve (where it is usually screwed into the valve with a 10mm connector that looks like a car brake pipe connector. Unbolt from the valve. These sensors are widely used on most gas appliances (Boilers, gas fires, cooker hob burners and patio heaters all use the same kind of sensor). You should be able to get a replacement from any gas appliance service agent. If you go into a shop, take it with you. The only thing you need to do is make sure the replacement you get is long enough. If you are offered one that is slightly longer, that

Belling G755 Cooker oven wont stay lit

I'll give this a go! With a cooker like this, you depress and then turn the control knob, press the ignition button and continue to depress the control knob for a few seconds. This is because a device called a thermocouple is heated by the flame and you have to continue to depress the control knob so that sufficient gas flows to heat up the thermocouple. If the thermocouple does not get hot or stay hot then the gas valve is automatically closed - stopping the gas. The thermocouple is a 'flame failure' safety device. If the gas gets cut off then the flame goes out and the thermocouple goes cold switching off the gas valve automatically. However, you are having to try and manually keep the gas going for a good five minutes. I would think that there is either a problem with the thermocouple or the gas control valve! Oven will not respond

The knob won't have any effect on the flame size.  The knob controls temperature.  If you're referring to the pilot light staying on and then the main flame not going on...that's another problem.  If the main flame will not go on, the assembly that controls the main flame is likely defective.  If the unit has a thermocouple, you might change it out first.  Sometimes, that's all that is needed and they're cheap.
