Don't waste your time trying to figure it out Call a factory service and let them do a warranty repair. This set is too new to have problems and there may be updates to it that will prevent further trouble. The inverter board is probably bad and if you try to go out of pockket $$$$$ big time. Go for the free repair.

My new 55in sanyo lcd tv has sound but no picture. The tv is one week old. Is the problem the backlight or something else?


Tv only a week old take it back were u bought it,trade it in for another tv.Tv have a picture than flashes only a few sec. than died have sound left only?Yes,than those tv 2 long LCD inverter boards are dead.These tv 2 long LCD inverter boards are only to help the tv to have a backlight for tv LCD screen panel only to produced pictures.

I purchased this hdtv new from Best Buy in February 2008. Last week a crackling sound began to develop and now the sound has gone completely, although the picture is fine.


Insignia T.V. 50" Model; NS-PDP50, Plasma T.V.

T.V. comes on, there is sound but no picture.
T.V. is les than 18 months old. We use the T.V. when we come to our Condo in Daytona Beach for vacation, so it hasn't been used very much.

Lost entire picture, sound and everything else OK


check the invertor boards resistors they power the back lights
also check for any capactors that have blown (raised tops) they look little bateries

Delay to see the picture


Your power supply is going south, I have an old sony with the same problem. The voltage level drops and does not have enough 'kick' to start. It will work better when it is warm. The module will need to be replaced.
