Question about Dell 5310n Laser Printer

5310n dell printer

I put an official replacement cartridge in this printer and it says to put another or new cartridge in....and will not reset. They say we need a new sensor and possibly a new board. I have purchased the parts, now I'm looking for the instructions to break this down and swap out the parts.

Does it detect an old cartridge properly? Please verify this before disassembling. I've seen incompatible cartridges sent before. The service manual is the same for the 5210 http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/prn5210/

Help! I just got a toner cartridge for my Dell 5310N and for the life of me it will not fit in the machine...I dont want to break it and it looks exactly the same as the old toner...suggestions?


have a look at this video, start at 2:50 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQNm4Q_-Rv4 you can see how they take it out, just try to do the reserve to pop it back in
Also, did you take of any of the covering from the toner? sometimes you also have to pull out a long protective strip from the toner.

Our Dell 5310n printer is telling us there is a paper jam and to check the cartridge. I have looked and there is no paper to remove and I haven't a clue how to sort this out and i need it for work. Can...


Remove the cartridge. On the left side about 8-10 inches in from the front a small plastic arm sticks up. This frequently gets knocked out of its mount and doesn't move anymore. You have to remove the tray and some plastic bits and pop that arm back in its mount.

I have a dell 5310n that comes to ready but as soon as i send a print it comes out completely blank.


I've done this! Then sheepishly pulled the tape out of the toner cartridge. Can also be the high voltage power supply.

Can't connect laptop to dell 5310n printer


It is not the manual you need, but the installation disk. It will provide instruction you how to setup the printer and install required drivers. The manual is available from Dell for free (5310 manual)
