Touchpad Scrolling

The scrolling feature on a laptop touchpad can take some getting used to, which causes some users to disable the feature.
Whether scrolling was intentionally turned off or never enabled on the laptop, it can easily be turned on from the "Mouse Properties" menu.

Click "Start" (or the Windows logo button in Vista and Windows 7) and select "Control Panel." Select "Classic View" in Vista if not already displayed. Double click "Mouse."
You may also access "Mouse Properties" in Vista and Windows 7 by clicking the Windows logo and typing "Mouse" in the search box.
Press "Enter," then click "Mouse" when the search is finished.
Select the "Hardware" tab.
Select the touchpad and click "Properties."
Click "Change Settings" if the settings aren't displayed.
Click the "Device Settings" tab in Windows 7 and select the touchpad.
Click "Settings."
Click "Virtual Scrolling" in the touchpad properties window.
Click the boxes next to each "Enable Scrolling" box and click "OK." Scrolling is now turned on for your touchpad.

Emachines G640G 6670M

Open Device Manager, Uninstall the Graphic Card and driver, reboot the machine, allow Windows 7 to apply the generic driver, Open Windows Updates and run. OR, open Device Manager, display adapter, update Graphics adapter. OR, Use the eMachine windows vista 64 bit drivers. Download the Windows Vista 64bit driver and Save , open Properties, change compatibility to Windows 7. First let me say this is MY FAULT! I have a Logitech mouse, which I wanted to use with my new laptop. So I tried to install the software, and deleted the installed mouse/pointer. THEN I learned that...

I would suggest that you borrow a generic mouse from someone and plug it in the vista and then do that. Another option is to boot your computer in safe mode and then uninstall the drivers there as the mouse will work with generic drivers in safe mode.

I am having trouble connecting my Kensington Si670m wireless mouse to my lenovo R61i laptop.

Two things that might be able to help you would be to make sure that the OS (Operating System) is either Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP. It may or may not work on Vista.

Also check for the updated drivers for the mouse. Your mouse should have came with a disc, make sure you run that as well.

Usually Vista does not need driver to install an USB Mouse.
Try this:
Turn off the laptop, then put the mouse connection. Turn on again. See if now it is working. The mouse should be connected in "off"
If still does not work, try put in other USB port of the laptop. Usually a laptop has at least 2 USB port. Remember to connect it always in "off".
