Battery gets hot and won't hold a charge; plus shattered LCD screen

My son dropped his phone and shattered the glass and LCD screen. Ever since, his phone will not hold a charge and gets very hot after a short use. Can these issues be fixed? Worth fixing?

The glass and LCD can be fix and replaced but the main-board heating up is saying that the board needs to be replaced but you should just purchase new one.

If phone was dropped or got wet, it needs to be taken to a tech ASAP. Try restoring it, putting the device on DFU mode.

My battery died on the Nokia 6790 Ive been charging the phone for over 3 hours and only the keyboard lights up when i hold the "on" button but the screen doesnt turn on

Ifthe cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Shattered glass. Phone still works fine- I've just used sticky-tape to hold the glass together. Can I replace the screen?

Yes, you can replace it. You can buy a replacement LCD off Ebay, comes with tools for replacement: http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-LCD-Screen-Display-HTC-HD-Wildfire-G8-/310289609552?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item483eb3b350

My 60 inch fell backwards on the floor and shattered the inside glass. It was already on the floor and my son decided to pushit back and it fell. Is there any hope for repair??? Or should I get rid of...

No,not worth repairing,if the LCD or CRT screen panels are broken or damage.Because it 90% of the tv functions value. The replacement of the LCD or CRT screen panels, will cost about the same as a new tv.Because,no where else u will able to buy a LCD or CRT screen panels for the replacement, beside the tvs corporations themself. They are limited produce.Ur tv,now only worth as electronics boards parts for salvage.

Replacement Screen for Pantech C810

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.
